I've actually read reports where he also has MCL damage and will need an entirely reconstructed knee. Yikes.

Cassel never started a game at SC (his only start was at te). Don't hold your breath waiting for him to be anything but below average.

I don't expect Cassel to be the next Brady, but he certainly has the pieces in place to do it.. He's probably still on the team for a reason, and that reason probably isn't because he's below average.

Wouldn't it be something if Cassel came in and established himself as a legitimate QB. He and Brady have a lot in common.

Both were backup QB's in college to QB's that had high expectations
Both were very, very low draft picks
Brady started his career when Bledsoe, a pretty-respected QB at that time, fell - he ended up winning a Super Bowl

Who knows if Cassel can do the same?

It could be quite possible that Brady benefited from the Patriots' system....

I think Cassel could be pretty good...

Not uncommon based on how he was hit... Won't add much more recovery time at all... I tore my ACL, MCL, meniscus, and cracked my kneecap Jr. year in HS (12 years ago) and my recovery time was only 10 months... Did I mention that I was far from being in the shape of or having the resources of a professional athlete? He'll be back for next season 100%... Bet he'll be wearing braces now though... Never understood why QB's don't these days...

No, but all the trips to the WC that he won't be making now will probably save him from getting VD or shot at...
