There is no chance Brady's replacement (Matt "Casselrole" recipes can be found here) lives up to half of what Tom Brady has done for the (18-1) Patriots. Did anyone catch his performance against the weak defense of KC? Yeah, he managed to slip out of there with a win handing the ball off 70 percent of the time.

Here's a little foreshadowing.. The Patriots are going to start losing, which will cause a complete overthrow of their Bandwagon that hopefully results in the ENTIRE AREA of New England's demise (Cetics, RedSox, etc.) and just for good measure they'll lose twice to my new "FAVREorite" Jets.

As you can already tell, I'm not the biggest fan of the New England "cheating" Patriots and all their allies. I feel bad that this injury happened to Brady, BUT it makes me glad as well to see how well MR. PERSONALITY, Coach Belichick, will MASTERMIND his way into another Super Bowl contending season. I highly doubt it!

I don't think Cassel was all that bad... He was 18/23 for 152 and a score. No one is expecting him to be Tom Brady or for the Pats offense to go on without missing a beat. They are just going to have to play to their strengths now which include the running game and winning with defense. They will ask Cassel to simply not beat them, which he did a pretty good job of on Saturday. They will still take shots downfield to Moss and Gaffney, as Matt throws a pretty good deep ball... But I would look for Welker to get far less work underneath, as I don't believe they will make all the timing pass calls they did with Brady in there...
The Pats are talented enough on both sides to make the playoffs with the schedule they have this season... Will they? It remains to be seen, but Cassel is going to have to be efficient for it to occur... If not, then the Pats will get higher round picks and be able to add quality players to a team that will get Brady back and healthy next season...

Right, Cassel wasn't bad and didn't blow it, however in the NFL today QBs are heavily relied upon to make plays when they are needed. Brady was ridiculous this past year when he edged out Favre (given 1 vote) for the leagues most valuable player.

Plus, the Patriots are now predictable on Offense, no longer can they lull the Defense to sleep with the crossing 3 yard passes to Welker or Watson. They now must rely upon their running game and the deep ball. That provides opposing teams with a simple gameplan. Double Moss, crowd the bock.

I agree D can win championships, case and point: Baltimore Ravens with Dilfer as the lead. Yet, I don't see the Patriots competing with the power houses of the AFC. BUT we'll just have to see, because championships are not won on paper, if so, the Cleveland Indians would have coasted to a 2007 World Series Championship.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and torn medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his left knee, NFL sources confirmed to the Boston Globe today. Brady will likely undergo surgery in approximately one month and face 6-9 months of recovery and rehabilitation, barring any complications.

I find it amusing that the team that employs Rodney Harrison had the audacity to complain about the hit on Brady being a "cheap shot". [censored] you and the mediocre Wolverweenie QB you rode in on!

I can't wait to see an entire season of Bill Belichick mumbling and bitching his way through interviews and press conferences.

Amusingly I heard Belichick and he basically tossed Brady aside like an empty soda can. I am paraphrasing, but quoting as closely as I can, as he said a REALLY believeable "I feel bad for him"...then said "He played one position, and played it better than most, this week we all have to do our jobs and someone else is playing the QB position. That's it".

I doubt he mentions Brady again this year or answers another question about him.

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady tore both the ACL and MCL in his left knee, but medical tests showed no damage to other knee ligaments and no torn cartilage, The Boston Globe reported Wednesday.

Because the typical course of action is to wait four to six weeks for the MCL tear to heal and then reconstruct the ACL, Brady will likely have surgery in one month, The Globe reported. Barring any complications, he will need six to nine months of recovery and rehabilitation.

The Patriots begin training camp for the 2009 season in mid-to-late July, a little more than 10 months from now.

Someone sent an email to ESPN about the ridiculous coverage of Brady's knee and asked if anyone else in the league would ever receive such treatment over an injury. The guys on the show, can't remember who they were off the top of my head, claimed that had it been Tony Romo or Peyton Manning they'd receive even more coverage than Brady is.

Personally, I call bull[censored].
