Brian Urlacher Fined $100,000 for wearing a hat
Brian Urlacher was fined $100,000. for wearing a non NFL authorized hat and drinking a bottleed water
Fair or not.
Way extreme to me. The NFL has a lot of money to protect but this kind of money for one infraction ? Too much

NEW YORK -- Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher was fined $100,000 by the NFL for wearing a cap during Super Bowl media day that promoted a sponsor not authorized by the league. NFL rules prohibit gear that advertises any product but a designated sponsor, league spokesman Brian McCarthy said Wednesday.

What?
Was he paid to wear the hat? If so, how much? If he was paid, maybe that should be the fine? Either way, it's still a bit of a silly fine.

100k is a little steep. I'm sure the company will pay for the fine or already paid him more than that to wear it.

100K is waaay too much. And why is this just coming out now? If he was payed to wear the hat, then the NFL should just take that money, not 100K$ for putting a damn hat on. Is the NFL going a little overboard now that they have the Pacman Jones suspension. Domino Effect, they do one huge fine/suspension and now they think they can do anything?

this has happened in the past. I believe there was a Bears QB (McMahann?) who did something similar and was fined. The next game he wore a headband or something with the commisioners name on it? anyone else recall this?
