LB Zach Thomas signs with Cowboys

Thomas, 34, who was released by the Miami Dolphins two weeks ago, following a 2007 season in which he was limited to just five appearances, chose the deal from the Cowboys over contract proposals from the New England Patriots and the New Orleans Saints.
ESPN.com's John Clayton reported that the deal is for one year at $3 million.

Hopefully this doen't end up bumping Bobby Carpender off Dallas' depth chart.

Kind of a surprise since I heard that the Patriots were his leader just last night. Dallas definitely helped their defense right away with this signing.

I don't see how Jerry's supposed to lock up Barber and Canty long-term, re-sign Adams and Hamlin, get T.O. to sign an extension, and take care of two 1st-rounders when he's giving luxury players $3m. Dallas is, or was, only $9m under the cap.

I think you'll find that alot of fans are hoping it does. Only thing he's done in Dallas so far is grow a 70s porn star 'stache and keep DeMarcus Ware's seat warm.
Apparently Parcells wants him in Miami though, so this could pave the way for that. |

I hate when players I like go to teams I hate. They always seem to go to the Cowboys, too.
I'd like to see Bobby get out of Dallas, not just because I hate the Cowboys, either. He's talented, it's sad to see him not contributing as a LB.

Carp was already on his way out of Dallas.
In my opinion, this is a great risk for the 'Boys. Past success does not equal future success. Zach Thomas is slowing down.
