Only this time, proposal gets majority of 'yes' votes in wake of 'Spygate'
Though NFL owners today overwhelmingly approved a communication device for defenses, not everyone was in favor of the technological advance. In fact, all seven 'no' votes came from head coaches with offensive backgrounds, including Green Bay's Mike McCarthy.
The vote was 25-7 in favor ? 24 yes votes were required. Voting against the measure were Seattle (Mike Holmgren), Tampa Bay (Jon Gruden), Oakland (Lane Kiffin), Philadelphia (Andy Reid), St. Louis (Scott Linehan), Washington (Jim Zorn) and Green Bay (McCarthy)....

Packers' pre-draft team needs
By Adam Caplan
Scout.com Senior NFL Reporter

Areas were team needs to upgrade in order to take next step
Players Added
Brandon Chillar/LB - General Manager Ted Thompson and the Packers smartly use the draft to build their team and use free agency to supplement the roster - not the other way around. With that said, Chillar will compete against SLB Brady Poppinga for the starting job. That linebacker position is clearly one that the coaches would like to see improvement.....

Packers' draft wish list
By The Sports Xchange
Posted Apr 14, 2008
What are the Green Bay Packers biggest needs? Read on to see how the upcoming NFL draft can help the Packers
The team's most pressing concern in the days before the draft later this month is to get a quarterback on board to serve as Aaron Rodgers' backup after the retirement of Brett Favre. GM Ted Thompson seems inclined to add a veteran for that role, rather than wait on taking a prospect in the draft.
Come draft weekend in late April, the Packers will be in solid position to upgrade the depth at cornerback, tight end and on the offensive line with three picks in the first 60 selections.
1. Cornerback: With age creeping up on Pro Bowlers Al Harris, 33, and Charles Woodson, 31, and no surefire young replacements in reserve...........
