Shaun Rogers and Corey Williams both impressed in the OTAs, especially with their quickness. Rogers weights in the 360 range and is wearing Ted Washington's No. 92. While Rogers had a lot of work at nose tackle, the coaches are still talking about Williams and Rogers at the ends with Shaun Smith starting at the nose, with Robaire Smith the first substitute. He can play either end.

Antwan Peek is finally over his foot problems from last year. The Browns believe he can be the pass rusher from the opposite side of Kamerion Wimbley that the team desperately needs. Look for the Browns to play Andra Davis and Willie McGinest at linebacker in the early running-situation downs, then go with Leon Williams and / or Beau Bell along with regulars D'Qwell Jackson, Wimbley and Peek in passing situations. The Browns are anxious to get Bell together with the veteran linebackers so they can begin to gauge how quick he can be used to key situations.

Offensive lineman Ryan Tucker, a starter since joining the Browns in 2002, underwent surgery Friday at the Cleveland Clinic to repair a nondisplaced hip fracture.
Tucker is expected to be ready for the Sept. 7 season opener at home against the Dallas Cowboys, according to a statement that the Browns released Saturday.
The 11-year veteran limped off the field Wednesday during the second day of the Browns' organized team activities with what coach Romeo Crennel called ''a little uncomfortableness in the hip area.''
Head team physician Anthony Miniaci performed the surgery.
Last year Tucker found a new home at right guard, starting the final eight games there after Seth McKinney underwent season-ending shoulder surgery.
Tucker felt rejuvenated by the switch from right tackle, where he had spent the majority of his career, including his previous five seasons with the Browns. After serving a four-game suspension, Tucker rotated

Has anyone checked to make sure they don't have a doctorb performing these surgeries? I suspect foul play.

Crennel updates Tucker outlook Akron Browns Backers pay tribute to Anderson and Dawson at banquet

Browns coach Romeo Crennel said offensive lineman Ryan Tucker is resting at home after undergoing surgery Friday to repair a fractured hip.
But resting is not really the operative word.
''Probably the biggest deal will be his comfort,'' Crennel said Monday night at the 28th annual Akron Browns Backers Banquet at Tangier restaurant. ''They say that sitting down is not a good position for that recovery. We're going to have to see how we can keep that hip straight, but he can still get some things done.''
The 11-year veteran started the final eight games at right guard in 2007 after an injury to Seth McKinney.
Tucker had been a mainstay at right tackle since joining Cleveland in 2002.
''You're always concerned when you lose a starter,'' Crennel said. ''They put some pins in [the hip]. We expect him to come back this year and help us. He'll do everything he can to get back.''

AKRON The Browns are looking for consistency from Derek Anderson.

Off the field, he's as consistent as can be. His amused nonchalance never changes.

No one was surpris
