Low completion percentage and lots of interceptions just like this year with the Browns. There is a reason why a guy with his ability doesn't get drafted until the 6th round. His big arm is both a blessing and a curse, he might win you some games but he'll also lose some by trying to force the issue. A playoff/championship contender needs someone more steady than that. DA's performance in Cincy cost the Browns a playoff spot. I was at that game and it wasn't that windy inside the stadium. Even if you want to argue about the conditions, I'll say the majority of his interceptions were caused by bad decisions and inaccurate throws. If they can get a 1st and a later pick for DA, I'll be ecstatic. I would probably even take 2 2nd's or a 2nd and a 3rd. I really don't think any team would have given up a 1st and 3rd. With a good surrounding cast and what I've seen of Quinn(both college & pro), I'm not too worried about him being a bust. They can find a solid backup for a lot cheaper than DA and spend that money in other need areas. |

Browns lining up more visits
by Tony Grossi Friday February 29, 2008, 3:07 PM Exhaling from an exhilarating start to free agency ... * The Browns are being visited today by Tennessee defensive end Travis LaBoy and New England receiver Donte Stallworth. Newly acquired defensive end Corey Williams also is in the house. Their arrivals were delayed by bad weather. The team is expecting two more free agent visits tonight and even more on Saturday. All are dependent on the weather. * Stallworth is another receiver represented by Drew Rosenhaus, who is trying to get a new deal for Kellen Winslow. Rosenhaus and Browns GM Phil Savage, incidentally, have a good working relationship. cleveland.com: Everything Cleveland |

I don't see what's so wrong with the Browns hedging their bets by keeping both QBs on the roster. If one of these guys really is the next Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, you wouldn't be able to tell me which one with a straight face. So keep them both, evaluate them a little bit longer, and increase your chances of shoring up the most important position on the team for the next 10+ years. It's a lot better than risking losing the guy that could be a great quarterback just for a draft pick that could flop anyway. |

But it is just a 1 year contract with no frills (so if traded there is no cap hit) |

but it makes the first day of the draft alot less interesting if you're only looking at a 3rd round pick. ![]() I can tell you with a straight face that neither one of these guys is a manning or Brady....but definitely a Quinn or an Anderson ![]() |

I kind of get the feeling that DA decided to tell the Browns no at midnight (or whenever last night) and test the waters really quickly. He was lucky no bridges were burned because I'm guessing no one was really biting since he was tendered. |
