Don't forget about Austin Scott and the RB from Notre Lame that have been inpressive so far in camp. We'll see how they do when the pads go on.

Kevin Jones is a speed back not a power back. There have been some concerns about his character too.

We should hide the women and children, tell our family we love them and then batten down the hatches.

I think if Lewis went down Vickers would be a pretty decent option as a power back. With him as the power back, Wright as the combo back and Harrison as a speed back I think the running game would be competent considering they have one of the best lines in the NFL.

Lets hope it would never come to that. Vickers is a blocking FB...nothing more, nothing less. Harrison has the skill to be a nice change-of-pace back but is too small to take the beatings as an every down player. Wright has never shown anything other than being a decent backup. Our line is good, but the Browns need a talented back to keep defenses honest to open up the bread and butter passing game. This isn't a Broncos type of system where you can essentially plug in a warm body and get a 1,000 yeard rusher.

Canton
Browns cornerback vows return from knee surgery
Monday, June 30, 2008
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
CLEVELAND Browns cornerback Daven Holly is confident he'll bounce back from major knee surgery next season ? and be better than ever.
Holly, 25, was hurt when he jumped for a ball with receiver Braylon Edwards during practice on May 21.
"I know fans have been wondering how serious this is and whether or not I'll be back," Holly said. "But I expect to make a full recovery with no loss of speed or strength. A delay is not a denial. I'll come back better, stronger, faster and more mature than before."
Holly, a fourth-year pro, said he must have overextended his leg because when he hit the ground, it buckled. Holly crumpled in pain and knew it was serious because of the impact, but he didn't think it was season-ending.

While Vickers was a decent running back in college but I think he has put on too much weight to make him an effective RB with the Browns. The Browns had opportunities last year to spot duty him in the one-back set but never did so. If something happens to Lewis, I think Wright would get first shot but perhaps Scott will come through during camp as Buckin mentioned at the top of the page.
