I am sure that the Browns have a master plan but after yesterday's draft I have no idea when it is going to kick in. I know that they has solidified their o-line for a few years with the drafting of Mack and I guess they have improved their defense a little worth the guys that they got from the Jets. I still would like to Browns to find a quality OLB and I don't think that the guy from Hawaii is the answer. Can someone say David McMillan. Of course I love the pick of Robo not only because he was a Buckeye but I think he was a quality selection for where they got him. He might not have the speed of some of the guys that went ahead of him but I think he has better playmaking abilities than some of those guys.

With regards to the guy from Georgia, last fall I was going to pick him for my fantasy team but really had never heard of him so I checked with my main man jwinslow and he told me that the guy was a highly regarded recruit coming out of high school but never lived up to his explications during his first three years at Georgia. I think he had a pretty good senior year but I have heard that he is still known to drop the ball at times.

I guess I don't understand what Mangini and GK have in mind with all those six round draft choices. Hopefully, they can bundle one or two of them with a higher selection and get a decent draft pick but time is starting to run out on them this year to do that. I just don't see much quality down in the sixth round.

veikuna's measurables are far superior to david mcmillan's in every facet. in fact, you should stack him up to maualuga's combine performance and see how he stacks up.

given the ridiculous run on wr's in the 3rd round, and the fact that cleveland clearly wanted 2 wr in this draft. taking massaquoi when they did ended up being smart.

How good is the OLB that we just picked in the fourth round from USC I wonder why he lasted so long.

My point about drafting Masa... from Georgia was the fact that he had some big-time dropsies during his junior year and I did not hear that much regarding if you get over that problem in his senior year. He certainly has the nice measurables for a WR.

would not mind bundling 2 of our sixth round picks to move up and get Hartline. I think he would make a nice slot receiver and since we are building for the future we might as well keep building.

Guys who are still around at this point all have question marks, kind of the nature of the 4th round guys not going in the 1st.

Hartline is off the board, by the way...

Anyway, yeah, might be nice to bundle some 6's up if there's someone interesting out there, but, not like we don't need numbers, too... might as well just start pulling the trigger on upside guys like it's our job.

No worries. I am on solid ground. If I was going to jump, it would have been back in 1994-95.

I think we have numbers now with all the New York Jets that we picked up yesterday. So I guess I would like for them to try and get a little quality which I do not think you will get in the sixth round even with three chances.

See that's how good Brian would have looked in a Browns uniform

there are going to be some decent OL and RB on the board in the 6th where cleveland has 3 picks. all the positional runs have been in areas that cleveland has filled.

they'll take some projects, and some guys that fell and call it a day.

Dunno, I'll be honest, I'm kind of behind on all the (less notable) roster moves, but, 5th round, 6th round... what's the difference. So, I don't know what we need as far as special teams or whatever... I do see your point in the sense that there may (and likely are) be guys out there that they saw as 3rd rounders or something like that.. that might fall into range where you can go get them, and I certainly have no problem if there are guys the really still like, but, on the other side of the coin, if there are a lot of spots left that they feel like they need depth at... take all 3 6's.

Yeah, I mean, I'd like to take a flyer on a RB... a project O-Lineman and-- the guy who fell, as you put it....

There's another good side to 6th and 7th rounders... if they don't end up making the team it's not that big of a deal, too... but, pretty unlikely all 3 won't contribute some... and... a 5th you might miss on and feel compelled to keep them.. tough to say, I'd only trade up if there's someone they REALLY like.

Cleveland Browns do draft a USC linebacker

BEREA -- Who said the Browns didn't have an interest in any of the linebackers from Southern California?

After bypassing the heraled trio of Trojans linebackers on Saturday, the Browns made Kaluka Maiava of USC their first pick on Sunday with the 104th overall selection in the fourth round.

Maiava started 13 games last year and was overshadowed by Brian Cushing, Rey Maualuga and Clay Matthews.

"They definitely have the spotlight, but they made me a better player and upped my game," Maiava said on a conference call.

Maiava, 5-11 1/2 and 229 pounds, played three different linebacker positions in his USC career and was a key player on special teams.

Barring a trade the remaining Browns' selections are all in the sixth round.

I realize that some very big time NFL players were picked in the sixth round or even were picked up by being undrafted but that doesn't happen very often. Guys in the sixth round, as tsteele mentioned, are usually projects type players and hopefully we will luck out and one will bloom for us hopefully at RB because that is really becoming a position of need (depth).

Last pick of the draft is Clemson RB James Davis... I like the pick, he's a big physical guy who was very good for Clemson before Spiller came there.

Since the Browns likely won't be trading Braylon this year and will probably lose him in FA, are they going to get any compensation for him?
