Marshall is a [censored]ing headcase who apparently can't go two days without kicking the [censored] out of his girlfriend. That's the kind of player I'd want to avoid, talented or not.

We also need another veteran WR because we have no idea how long Stallworth is going to be suspended this year by the NFL. It could be 1/2 the season if not more but nobody knows right now. I would do the deal for Marshall. We can always get rid of him if he doesn't work out
As far as the concern about what Cribbs might want after this season, how many years does he have on his current contract? What one wants is irrelevant to me if still under contract. If still under contract, what could he do. Hold out and not get any money? To me this is absolutely irrelevant to the issue.

What is very relevant to the issue, at least to me, is the baggage of problems/issues that Marshall has. It doesn't matter how talented the individual is, if he has issues/problems off the field (which Marshall most definitely does), most of the time the team suffers because of it. Nothing is more important than the team, what it means to be a team in the truest sense, and to be a team player, and this is most true in football...the epitome of a team sport.

I would pass on this faster than I would pass on a lap dance from Rosie O'Donnel.

Now there's a [censored]ing visual we needed

Just to play Devil's advocate, I'll take the other side...Marshall seems to be pretty much a scumbag off the field, but that puts him in pretty good company by NFL standards. He can also completely take over a game, something only a handful or less of receivers can do (and Braylon ain't one). Braylon can make a big play, but you won't see too many 11-16 reception games from him like we have seen from Marshall in the past. Plus if Quinn is the starter, Marshall is the perfect intermediate route guy (8-20 yards), so he'll play to what we really need out of the position a hell of a lot more than Stallworth ever could. He's also a big target, such that even Anderson would have a much harder time missing him. So really, as far as WR go, he might be the best fit for the squad of anyone out there.

That said, do I want him? Not really.

I am sorry. I am calling Denver right now to tell them not to bother calling us because we do not want their problems. You are correct. I also understand what you mean about Cribbs. He can sit if he doesn't want to play under his current contract.

If Denver is really asking for Cribbs and a pick, you can probably get him for less.

Besides, doesn't Denver's defense suck? Why would they want a KR back for Marshall? If there's indeed a firesale waiting to happen, why not ask for depth there?

I'm sure we got one or two too many ex-Jets on D.
Haven't you heard? Cribbs also has the potential to be an all-world safety, corner, linebacker, or defensive end. No one in their right mind would put him a DT though.

If they suck on defense, they'll get their money's worth out of him returning all those kickoffs.

Charlie Weis might. Can you imagine a d-line with Cribbs at DT and Pryor at DE?

Yeah, me neither.

Yeah, my 6 was all the way back when Mark Martin drove it (the only NASCAR guy I can remotely stand).

It would take at least Cribbs and 2nd rounder to get this done. Brandon Marshall is a heckuva reciever , has had the second most catches in the last two years combined. Definitely has had some off-field issues which could be a problem but I would still take him.

Last I checked, KW2 matured quite nicely while under our colors. Its a possibility Marshall could as well.

Upon further review, I have just looked at Marshall's stats and in the last two years he has caught over 100 passes for over 1000 yards and the guy is only entering his 4th season and is only 25 years old. He has had contract issues with Denver and perhaps a change in his environment along with a coaching change might help him. Getting him might also give us the opportunity to look at a trade for Edwards. If we know that we could move Edwards, I would be willing to give up a #2 draft choice along with Cribbs.

Not really.
I agree with almost everything that you said, with the exception of the Braylon can't take over a game line. Braylon can take over a game, but he can also disappear in games for stretches.

I think a coach like Mangini is exactly what Braylon needs. He needs a coach that won't put up with his b.s. and that will challenge him. I just think that a player with Braylon's personality doesn't mix well with a lax coach like Crennel. I think he needs somebody like Mangini. It's Mangini's way or the highway.

Braylon can be a great receiver in the NFL, and while Brandon Marshall currently is a great receiver in the NFL, I do not believe that he or any player is worth the baggage. Say what you want about Moss or T.O., but even their off-field baggage isn't as serious as Marshall's.
