Ohio State's creativity and execution are sorely lacking. It is what it is. Are the Buckeyes extremley successful in terms of Big 10 championships and winning percentage?? Of course..but you prob should be when you've put the most players in the NFL since 2001.

Absolutely. But my point is what we clamor for is exceedingly rare, imo. Almost no one can seem to put together both sides of the ball with any consistency. Uf was one of the rare exceptions, and now they've even lost their mojo, which apparently went to the vikings despite still having Tebow, Demps, Rainey, James, Thompson, Cooper, Henderson.

Ole Miss ended up being ranked #15 that year (9-4, 5-3 SEC).

Purdue's lost to Northern Illinois, Northwestern, and Minnesota. They may only win 1 other Big Ten game this year.

The point is, JT gets no credit for holding offensive oriented teams to FG's and twelve points, but gets all the blame for not beating Rice 70-7.

I guess my issue is..you say these teams have lost their mojo....outside of Troy Smith's 2006 Heisman season, when have we had a mojo to lose?? This program has had way more talent at its disposal than almost every team in the country, and can't field anything better than a statistically average offense, year in and year out...that may have been the best 1-5 team in the history of college sports, but they were still 1-5, and we looked like garbage for 3 quarters on one side of the ball.

UF lost their mojo. I think OU & UT's mojo was distorted by their competition.

I think having this bad of an offense, though, is far more detrimental to a team than a bad D or ST. With a bad D, at least the offense gets the ball back and a chance to score. With a bad O, you're just forcing your D to do too much. They can only do so much. Scoring on offense is easier than scoring on D (maybe not this year ).

This offense is leaving a great D out to dry on numerous occasions. No first downs, no sustained drives, turnovers, turnovers in bad spots.

For 9 years though with exception to Troy's magical 2006 season? I've heard on more than 1 occassion that Tennessee has one of the best defenses in the SEC. Not a good comparison to Wisconsin which has been an awful defensive team this year, and not 1-5 Purdue.

I just don't see why it's acceptable to field this type of product year in and year out....maybe it's simply expectations. I DO feel with the right offensive system and playcalls, this team could compete for a National Title. I also believe today's loss and the loss to USC were direct results of our offenses ineptitude. With an offense built to use Terrelle's strengths, I think we own USC and and beat Purdue. I don't think our current coaching staff is built to cater to Terrelle's best assets. Troy was special, and could be molded into a pocket QB...but Troy also possesed a lot of characteristics Terrelle doesn't have.

What does Terrelle do well right now, bill? What can they run right now with success?

He runs to the sideline well, and little else. Might he be a little more productive running 80% of the time? Maybe, but not only would he be unhappy (since that's why he didn't choose UM), but I'm not sure he's ready to be the kind of runner everyone believes he can be.
