You wanna fix Terrell Pryor its easy. Excuse my language
1. Start pounding the [censored]ing ball. I form shove it down there throat. I'm so sick of this inside draw and this option that he can not run.
2. The qb coach has to put him against a wall and teach him literally that he cant throw off his back foot.
I just hope he makes leaps and bounds this year into next if not i dont know what to say to that. And i love TP i want him to succeed so badly i want him to be the best qb tOSU has ever had. He just has so many problems mechanically that needs to be fixed. He looks uncomfortable in the pocket.
I dont want anyone to think i am bashing him i am not, I just want our whole offense to change radically.

I think he could be productive with less decesion making plays...I've stated it a lot in other threads, but theres nothing wrong with setting plays up based on what a a defense is giving you, and asking him to execute it. My guess is he looks really good turning it upfield, in non-contact practices...just a theory.

Anyways, there are a lot of things they could do...including making the game easier on him by utilizing other playmakers. But we haven't seen any of that either. They let defenses off the hook by being so bland and predictable. I don't know more than the coaches do, but I do know you can slow a DE down by utilizing a WR handoff like Gilchrist and Wisconsin last week. What would be wrong with handing it off to Ray Small or Laamar Thomas while they motion across the QB? Play-action off that and give Terrelle an easy read. Use that to run misdirection.....

I'm not a coach, so I don't have all the answers...but this product is very sub-par. And it isn't from a lack of talent.

UF is virtually the only exception to the unsolved issues.

For awhile now:

- USC can't stop choking against bad teams.
- Oklahoma can't stop choking in big games.
- Georgia can't stop underachieving.
- Tennessee can't put together an offense despite great talent (finally changing this time after a million failed new coaches?)
- Michigan can't field a competent defense
- Penn State can't beat Iowa

- West Virginia can't beat Pitt

- Virginia Tech about like OSU, defense with anemic offense. They didn't crack the top-98 for 3 straight years.
- Texas can't win their own conference.

Since 07:
- LSU is playing soft, predictable football (which is pretty humorous given the talk after our matchup)

Which seems like a pretty enormous limitation in what you can call to fix this, no?

He can't keep the defense honest downfield. He can't pass the ball accurately underneath, nor are those plays available very often.

Or because it's one of the most effective rushing attacks they have, as flawed as it is. You're hitting on exactly what I was talking about however, I don't think there are many things Terrelle can do well.

I see where you're coming from...but I don't see the consistency in those examples like I do in an underachieving tOSU offense. A bad USC loss isn't due to one poor side of the ball, it's a mid-season let-up. It isn't b/c one sie of the ball is brutal. Oklahoma beat Texas in a shootout last year, but both teams have fielded good sides of the ball for the last 9 years as far as I can remember.

Penn State is vastly overrated every year and has benefited greatly from it. You can say the same thing about tOSU benefiting from a terrible Big 10, but there track record for producing NFL talent is basically unparralled right now..at least in quantity.

A simple fix could be a little more urgency. The team plays well when there's a sense of urgency (Wisky half, Purdue final 12 minutes).

Do a no huddle just to throw the D off, get Pryor excited to run to the line let the offense start to seek blood with a tired D that doesn't know what to expect. Main problem with this is, it generally takes a positive play or first down to really establish a no-huddle, could barely get that today.

Might get killed for this one- but...the Buckeyes could go to the now-popular line up, look to the coaches on the sideline, and then change the play thing. Cheesy as it may be- why not?

Josh, you seem to have a little more insight than most on this site so I have to ask- is all this talk about how much practice time, how much film study, how much improvement he's made, etc that gets said about Terrelle each week just purely conjecture? Maybe not your place to say, but just thought I'd throw it out there for discussion. It's hard to believe that much practice, film, coaching, etc time leads to comments such as the following: "not many things [he] can do well."

I know he's young, but to say "there's not many things Terrelle can do well" when he's this far into his career at Ohio State (okay, halfway through soph season isn't a ton of time, I know)...it doesn't seem good.

I'll give it time (what the hell else am I going to do?

With improved play by the offensive line TP will be able to move forward.

Yep, traditional bottom feeder in the Big 12, gets all those 1 star, 2 star athletes no one else in the state wants, has to compete with Texas and Texas A&M in his own back yard AND Oklahoma and yet he puts an eye opening offense on the field with the hope that he can score more than his defense will allow.

Now what part of the Texas Tech story compares to the situation in Columbus? Stadium? Money to recruit nationally? Money for assistant coaches? Training facilities? Fan base? National rep and recognition?

At T- Tech you've got some whacked out kid yanking on a fire bell versus Buckeye Grove, Script Ohio, Victory bell in tower, OH - IO, last tackle, NC and Heisman Trohphy winners...

Not exactly apples to apples is it?

So in a comparison of making do with the hand your dealt it seems to me that T-Tech's Lynch has done one hell of a job.
