And that theory only makes sense to people who believe that a coach who played at Penn State can ignore his own experience as well as that of everyone he played with and then hold a grudge simply because his step son "only" got drafted in the 4th round.
In other words, that notion appeals to...
Yeah, they run a low budget operation -- here's former QB Colt Brennan complaining about no soap in the showers for all spring and having to pay $3 every day to park during practice, among other things.
They'll have a small class, probably no more than 15, and LB isn't a big need. I think Mike Caputo and Lawrence Thomas were the only ones they've offered.
There are a lot of good players around NYC even if tOSU doesn't offer them -- Dominique Easley was the #2 ranked DT in the last class, and he is from Staten Island; 2007 1st team All Big Ten DE Mo Evans is from Brooklyn; current PSU RB Stephfon Green is from the Bronx. Long Island has produced a...
PSU replaced those top 3 receivers with 3 more who caught 122 passes, which is hardly the dramatic drop in production you imagine. 2009 was an outlier simply because Quarless was out of the doghouse for a change.
You are seriously misinformed -- Bolden visited PSU back in April and loved it, and at the time said he had no problem competing with Paul Jones. Since then the reports have consistently placed PSU among his favorites, so there's nothing sudden about this.
Guess what -- schools recruit kids for...
PSU is raiding Maryland this year -- apparently the coaches liked Sean Stanley more than this kid because Stanley got the offer and already committed. I'm not sure they'll take another DE, so you can have this one.
I guess the PSU staff missed it too because it doesn't appear they've shown any interest in Banks at all. That seems really odd considering all the attention he's gotten from other schools, so the home state team is conspicuous by their absence.
Yes, I saw an article somewhere that current teammates/PSU commits Givens and Willis are talking to Jenkins; Thomas is close friends with Givens so he's likely involved too. Dunno how well they know Jenkins though.
As well as current Penn State players Justin King and Jon Ditto. Coach Terry Smith has been developing some good players lately, but he isn't steering them all to his own college coach in Happy Valley.
WOW! Gateway sure keeps cranking out talented kids, from Justin King in '05, to Jon, Ditto in '07, Hale and Saddler in this class and then these 2 in the next. I didn't notice so many recruits coming out of there before King, but maybe there were there and I just didn't notice.
