From the Illinois site...Mike's top 3 currently is Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame. None have offered yet. He has offers from such schools as Illinois, Marshall, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Michigan State and several MAC schools. Coach Zook and Coach Zaunbrecher have him interested in Illinois as well. He is not sure where he will camp other than OSU yet.

The top quarterback prospect in Ohio is something that fans have debated for months as there are several excellent candidates this year. In the next segment of the Ohio High Top 100 Countdown, we reveal Duane Long's choice -- Mike Hartline of Canton GlenOak. Read on to see Duane's thoughts on this player. Plus, we also have a special Bucknuts TV interview of Hartline, taken this Sunday at the photo shoot for the Ohio High School Football guide (available at http://www.hssp.cc).

Hartline is considered the #9 prospect in Ohio for 2006. He is the top quarterback in Ohio. He is very athletic and do not be suprised if he is a top 10 nationally ranked quarterback this year.

Interview with Bill Greene of Bucknuts...Mike currently has offers from Kent State, Marshall, Mississippi, Kentucky, Illinois, Michigan State and Wisconsin. He is hoping to hear from ND, Michigan and Ohio State. If he didn't get another offer after today he would be leaning toward Wisconsin. He will wait as long as it takes to make the right decision.

From the Wisconsin site...the Badgers offered Mike last week. He also has offers from Michigan State, Ole Miss, Illinois, Marshall and Cincinnati. The Buckeyes are his favorite.

How does the seemingly inevitable offer to Henton affect an offer to Hartline?

It really seems to me that Hartline is the more established quarterback while Henton seems to be a bit of a project.

Hartline is a pretty impressive athlete in is own right, so I'm puzzled by the lack of an offer. If Henton commits, I can't see Ohio State taking another quarterback, but what do I know?

Is Mike out in the cold if Henton commits?

You're overlooking the fact that Hartline will break like a twig at the next level unless he starts putting on serious weight. I would bet that is a large reason for the lack of an offer. Hartline also does not compare to Schoenhoft or Boeckman in terms of arm strenght, and both of them are fully developed weight-wise.

1. Isiah Williams, 6-2, 220, 4.7, Chicago (Vocational)
Rocket-Arm QB gives a down Illinois program a big shot in the arm.

2. Austen Arnaud, 6-3, 205, 4.8, Ames, Iowa
Set to choose between Iowa and Iowa State. Terrific dual-threat QB.

3. Nate Davis, 6-3, 200, 4.7, Bellaire, Ohio. </B>
Raw but Davis has a cannon for an arm and he’s a natural athlete

4. Mike Hartline, 6-6, 185, 4.8, Canton (Glenoak) .
Needs to add bulk but Hartline has the potential to be a special player

5. Alex Loukas, 6-4, 190, 4.7, Deerfield, Ill., .
There’s not a hotter QB prospect in the Midwest. Tons of upside

6. Demetrius Jones, 6-3, 190, 4.7, Chicago (Morgan Park) .
“Double D” is an athletic QB who will flourish in the right system

7. Jared Funk, 6-2, 175, 4.6, Arlington Heights (Ill.) St. Viator.
Check this list in three years and Funk could be the best of the bunch

8. Arvell Nelson, 6-4, 175, 4.7, Cleveland (Ohio) Glenville.
Arvell needs to add bulk but he’s been impressive this spring

9. Adam Weber, 6-2, 205, 4.8, Arden Hills (Minn.) Mounds View.
Impressed on the spring combine circuit; Favors Minnesota

10. Ben Chappell, 6-2, 210, 4.8, Bloomington (Ind.) South.
Same high school as Rex Grossman…Committed to Indiana

11. Matt Jansen, 6-2, 190, 4.7, Crown Point (Ind.) .
Some feel that Jansen is the best quarterback in the Hoosier State

12. Rudy Kirbus, 6-4, 205, 4.7, Cleveland (Ohio) St. Ignatius.
Plays for one of the top programs in the Midwest…25 TD passes in ’04

13. Mike Canfield, 6-1, 215, 4.6, Lansing (MI) Everett.
Impressed at the Army All-American Combine in San Antonio

14. Brennen Glass, 6-4, 215, 4.8, Springfield (Ohio) South.
3,052 yards passing and 29 touchdowns as a junior

15. Miles Schlichter, 6-1, 205, 4.7, Washington Court House (Ohio) Miami Trace. Athletic and good gene pool; Competition is a question mark but Schlichter could be very productive at the next level.
