'09 KY ATH Justin Green (Illinois Signee)

Rivals $

6/3

From the OSU site...expects the written offer from OSU this week. Talks about what the OSU offer means to him. OSU is recruiting him as an ATH.

Changing the thread title to reflect the position OSU is recruiting him at...

I am so far beyond confused with the DB offers, that I can't even make sense of it...

I'm not really, I think its pretty clear what the objective of the staff is this year. They want this class wrapped up, and before the season starts. This year the championship is in Ohio State's hands, and the staff knows that. The boys over at scout have mentioned this several times.

Take your spot now, or risk not having one. CB, DL, and TE look to be the positions that are first come, first served (with some having their spots reserved already).

Sorry to go off topic, just thought I would add my 2 cents. Back to Green.

I completely agree with you HotMic. The staff is offering all these DB'S, TE'S and DE'S and sending them all a message if you want to be a buckeye join us now or be left in dust. This team has one goal in mind and that's to win a National Championship. Anything less than that is a disappointment, and the staff doesn't wanted any distractions. They want to focus all their time and energy on the season and have this class filled before we play the first game. With that said the Justin Green offer does not surprise me, if he wants to be a buckeye he will make that decision soon. I wouldn't be surprised if he was one of our next commitments.:oh::io:

With JT's penchant for recruiting speed and then letting the practices determine the kids best position, I think this is a very good offer. Hard to question the kid's bloodlines and Male is a good program with what I assume to be good coaching.

You can't question the kid's speed, 100, 200 and 400m champion with some outstanding times. [sarcasm]Gonzo and Ginn were outstanding DB's in HS who played out of position in college to mediocre results[/sarcasm], in Tress I trust

Congrats to the young man getting an OSU offer. I am with cbf40 in this... I am suprised we have so many DB offers out there. Maybe I am overlooking the obvious and some of the DB's we have play WR... I don't know, but I am sure the coaches do.

Heacock say's they are recruiting Green as an ATH not necesarily a DB..

He is a great prospect...top 100 on Rivals and I think he is a borderline top 100 player myself. Go watch his film on Rivals, I was pretty impressed. He is a good corner prospect but he is pretty impressive as a RB as well. Gotta like the bloodlines as well...let the best man win in the speed category but I just hope we have room for DeBose and/or McGee.

By Bill Kurelic...More about the Ohio State offer. Green is up to 12+ offers. Plans on deciding after taking his official visits.

He says he will wait until after the visits but we'll see. He will be up here before his official visit and I'm confident that the staff informed him it is a first come first serve basis.

Looks like a Flash Thomas clone. Haven't seen him on defense but considering all the DB's we're in on, I'd prefer him on offense.

I think Green would give us flexibility for both he and Corey Brown (who some analysts like better at WR)... One could end up at DB, one WR... Just more athletes that can play multiple places like JT loves...
