'09 NJ DE Anthony LaLota (Michigan Signee, transfer to Rutgers)

Not sure if this guy is still really on your radar with the way your class filled up, but a couple of notes:

- You guys tend to employ a lot of blocking TE's, but that in mind, Lalota would definitely be an offensive tackle before TE. Athletic and raw, yes, but his highest upside is probably on OL.

- Almost unfortunately, he's very set on playing defensive line. Maybe in the right situation he'd consider switching once he got to college, but even though its only been two years, he's very set on staying on defense.

- ND is the leader in the clubhouse (slated to visit for an extended weekend with Tyler Stockton this summer), but he's definitely taking his time and being diligent, so you never know. Should be checking out a lot of schools.

And Oregon would fit that?

ESPN - College Football Recruiting On the Trail 2009
Anthony LaLota picks Wolverines over PSU, Irish, Virginia, BC
Rated the No. 13 defensive end in Class 2009, Anthony LaLota of The Hun School (Princeton, N.J.) has pledged to the Michigan Wolverines and coach Rich Rodriguez.
LaLota, a 6-foot-6, 260-pound standout, also considered offers from Penn State, Notre Dame, Virginia, Boston College, Florida and Rutgers.

ESPN's Craig Haubert said of the news, "As Notre Dame and Michigan prepare to face to off, a coveted recruit for both made his decision. Irish fans are hoping their battle on the field today against the Wolverines goes better then this one on the recruiting trail did."
"Athletic prospect LaLota had been viewed by many as being a good possibility for the Irish, but yesterday he made his announcement and committed to Michigan. The New Jersey native is an interesting story. A high school basketball player, he took football up as a junior and quickly drew interest. The nation's No. 13-rated defensive end is a talented kid with very nice upside. He could also be considered as an offensive tackle prospect, but needs to improve as a run blocker and will likely be a defender for Michigan."
"Still a bit raw, Michigan landed a player with a good feel for the game that could really develop into a productive player for them. He has good size and runs well. With LaLota Michigan adds some needed youth to their end position and gets a player with promising upside they can mold."

He recorded 40 tackles, 10 sacks and one pass breakup during his junior season.
