Ohio will be key again for MSU

Since being hired at Michigan State back in November of 2006, Mark Dantonio has made recruiting the state of Ohio a top priority.

Other coaches like John L. Smith and Nick Saban also recruited there, but Dantonio has taken it to another level. Nearly 30 percent of the players signed by Michigan State since Dantonio's arrival played their high school ball in Ohio. That percentage is higher than any other Big Ten school -- except for Ohio State, of course.

Michigan State has recently extended scholarships offers to several Ohio players they are prioritizing for the class of 2011.

Mark Givler, who covers recruiting for OhioVarsity.com, recently stated that the players that Dantonio has offered from the Buckeye State are "impressive" and he expects Michigan State to sign "another strong group from Ohio."

Here's a look at a few of his preseason top-ranked players that Michigan State is currently pursuing:

No. 8: DE/MLB Andre Sturdivant of Cleveland Glenville High School
Sturdivant is one of the most physically impressive prospects in the Midwest for the class of 2011 and should be a Rivals top 250 recruit. He has already been on campus multiple times.

Is quoted in this piece as saying that OSU has verbally offered & he's not sure when he'll receive the written offer... He's staying in contact with Coach Taver Johnson & will be attending a junior day soon...
Interesting... I also read that Jeremy Cash isn't coming this weekend, and is not close to narrowing his list......................
Do I sense sarcasm? Is this another TOS vs TOS deal :!

I personally don't get the offer right now(that is if he has an offer). I like him don't get me wrong, but the timing is odd to me.
