Somewhere in between...

And the discrepancy probably arises because The Bank is saying it's a verbal offer and BK is saying there is no official offer...it's splitting hairs if the staff has told him to expect one on his visit this weekend.

Hey Wad, I don't see him as having the frame to carry the weight to be an effective DT.

I think he ends up at LEO or SSDE. With the offers we already have out what are your feelings on this offer? Does he have the burst and get off to rush the passer at the next level? He's not the fastest, but how are his read and react skills and agility in your opinion if he is to stay at say MLB? We've had some excellent MLB's in the past who weren't going to wow anyone in the 40.

I really like this offer. I think Tank is a perfect LEO candidate...he is already about to max out his frame and at most I think he plays DE. I honestly could see him staying at MIKE if need be. Depends on Durham's development imo.

Why would it depend on Durham? Can't we just try him at MLB and if he continues to grow try him on the weakside DE?

I agree about him playing Mike. That's where I said I liked him most earlier in this thread.

2010 U.S. Army National Combine

San Antonio, Texas. January 7, 2010
2010 U.S. Army National Combine

Participant Roster

Position Name Ht Wt Location 40-yard dash Shuttle speed Bench press Vertical leap N/A

Andre Sturdivant 6'2" 249 5.16 4.69 N/A 24.00
Taken from the scout free board

He ran an electronically time 40 in 5.16 and measured in at 6'2" and 249lbs. He's a big boy, and he matured early. The US Army and Nike combines are thought of by many as the most legit.

There is a precedent for 250 plus pound LB'ers at tOSU if they can get sideline to sideline and be effective at the weight. His shuttle time of 4.69 isn't bad. I would love to see him laying guys out at the line of scrimmage.

I'm curious who you think was 250 plus pounds and played linebacker at OSU... Katzenmoyer? Pepper Johnson maybe?

A lot of players sit around 250, maybe a few pounds over, but there are very, very few that go significantly over 250.

Kat was over well over 250, boy he could move for a big guy and hit like a Mack truck. Pepper played at 250 and up to 260 in the Pro's. So it has happened before, will it happen in the future, I have no idea?

If Durham plays LEO, Tank could play MIKE and vice-versa...if Durham pans out. Both players could play similar roles imo.

He's 260 right now, and he's not done growing. Darrion Scott would be a perfect comparison, IMO....

I guess that's the key...if he grows to 6'4ish, I could see him sticking on the DL. Right now I just don't think he has much more room on his frame unless he has grown.

I agree with the Darrion Scott comparisons...not that they are built the same but that they could have the same kind of versatility. I know Bank says he is at 260 right now and he feels Andre could add 20-30 lbs to his frame. Seeing as though Simon has been playing some DE in OSU's 3-4 packages, Andre looks like someone who could fill a similar role if he gets to Bank's projection of around 6-3 280 lbs...a guy who can play inside and outside. All his measurables and his brute strength remind me of Simon more than anyone else on the current team...only difference is Simon played DT in HS and Big Tank plays MLB. But their paths could be similar...have to wait and see.
