'12 OH WR Dwayne Stanford (Oregon Verbal)

Very interesting compilation of highlights. Have to believe the staff was impressed with his potential--strong hands, runs to the ball and gets max elevation.
Not sure who made the video, but if someone knows could you explain why at the beginning of the video his name is listed as Dewayne Stanford?

Diamonds in the Rough - Ohio | TheRinger.com

Offense: WR Dwayne Stanford - 6'5 200 lbs. - 4.5 40 YD - Cincinnati Taft HS

Offers: Ohio State, Alabama, Notre Dame, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Texas Tech, Purdue, Tennessee, etc.

With an offer sheet like that, how can Dwayne be a diamond in the rough?! 'In the rough' maybe a bit of a stretch, but this is a nationally elite level WR that doesn't get any hype. His offer sheet tells you a good amount right off the bat, and with size and speed like that it?s no surprise. He runs very gracefully (yes, we're allowed to use that term) due to his basketball pedigree, which you see quite often in top flight pass catching threats (Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates).

He comes from a strong family pedigree as well as his father and nephew (former Buckeye Joe Montgomery) lend to that as well. Has the rare "go up and get it" ability that you love as his leaping ability stands out - dunking off a miss in the 8th grade...moderately impressive). He runs effortlessly but his route running needs some major attention. Has impressively soft hands although he displays a tendency to use one hand too often, but on a positive he catches with his hands as opposed to his body, another basketball benefit. This combination of talents shows why Dwayne will go from unspoken to top 20 WR status very quickly.

The Buckeyes just came in with an offer to the best in the class and sure five-star national receiver in Cincinnati Taft's Dwayne Stafford. The best in my time as a talent evaluator in Ohio have been Devier Posey, Mario Manningham and T.Y. Williams. Stafford is right there with them and is only a junior. I think he will be the best receiver we have seen come out of Ohio since Chris Carter. Maybe the best ever. He is 6-4 or 6-5 and can leap out of the building. Outstanding body control and great hands. He is very aggressive on the ball. He does not wait on it to come to him. He goes and gets it. He is a game changer after the catch. You want to hear the best part? He is a sure qualifier and a clear Buckeye lean despite early offers from Alabama, Tennessee, Florida State and Georgia.

This kid reminds me more of Jonathan Baldwin from Pitt. He goes up and gets the ball and isn't scared of contact. Jones would get lost in games at times this year
