'12 OH WR Dwayne Stanford (Oregon Verbal)

Too much talk of 40 times. This kid has "IT". And a whole lot of scholarship offers from some of the nation's best programs.

Dwayne's got a chance to be a game changer at Ohio State with his athleticism, hands, size, and skill set. The kid can play ball.

Stanford has offers from schools all over the country, including Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Tennessee. He isn't a burner, but the 6-3, 297-pounder has the size colleges covet and had a big junior season with 44 catches for 865 yards and nine touchdowns. He had a 4.39 shuttle and 32-inch vertical.

Maybe his forty was typo adjusted.

Dwayne Stanford II, WR (Cincinnati/Taft)
He has offers from some of the top programs in the country including Alabama, Texas Tech, Purdue and Ohio State, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Pitt and Purdue. Stanford mentioned the Crimson Tide, Bearcats and Dawgs as schools showing the most interest and he's hoping to hear more from Oregon and Miami. Stanford, who also has an offer from Xavier for basketball, will take unofficial visits to Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State over the spring/summer.

Scouting: 2012 WR Dwayne Stanford II | TheRinger.com

Dwayne Stanford | WR | 6-4 200 | Cincinnati (Ohio) Taft

40 yard dash: 4.5 seconds
Shuttle: 4.39 seconds
Vertical: 32 inches

2010 stats
44 receptions - 875 yards - 9 touchdowns

Positives

Scouting Positive Size ? Ideal size for a WR, and he?ll be able to add on some more weight fairly easy. Very comfortable in his size also as he?s very fluid in his movement.

Scouting Positive Athleticism ? Has a basketball background and you can tell. Swift hips and has very strong leaping ability; does a great job of getting the ball at its peak.

Hope y'all will excuse me, it's a Monday morning, and all I'm looking for is a positive fix on OSU football recruiting, so I'm being a bit lazy...is there any indication that this young man is 'leaning' or otherwise looking North on I-71, or looking a bit NW toward NOtre Dame, as so many of the Cincy kids do?

As I peruse the depth charts of the various positions, WR sticks out to me as one of the 'unproven' ones, which are critical to a national championship. It looks like we've got the line, certainly a number of QB's who can toss it, but not certain about the catching part. Any thoughts? I'd love to wrap up 2-3 5*'s at WR for this class, and Stanford could be one of those....Go Bucks - keep the best at home.

cincinnati.com - Five questions with Mike Martin

3/16

Q: Do you expect the process to be similar for Dwayne Stanford?

A: He just got an offer from Kentucky and got one from Oregon last (week). One recruiter said he'll be one of the top 5 receivers in the country. I've been told he's definitely the No. 1 receiver in the state.

When the spring rolls around, I think every major college coach is going to come through for a visit. They've all been calling me, 'I'll see you this spring.' It's going to be a madhouse.
