Corona Centennial senior offensive lineman Cameron Hunt thought the recruiting process was complete back in July when he accepted a scholarship offer from Cal.

Things have changed in the weeks following Cal?s decision to fire coach Jeff Tedford.

Last week, Hunt said he was waiting to see if Jim Michalczik, Cal?s offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, would be retained by Cal?s newly-named coach, Sonny Dykes.

?If he (Michalczik) stays, I?ll probably stay with call,? Hunt said last week. ?But if he goes, I?m probably going to have to think things over a little bit and look at other offers.?

on Wednesday, Dec. 12, Cal confirmed Michalczik would not be returning next season.

Centennial?s practices have been flooded with college coaches who have come to take a look at Hunt, a four-star recruits who is among the top linemen in the 2013 class.

Michigan has sent two assistants in recent weeks, offensive coordinator and QBs coach Al Borges and receivers coach and recruiting coordinator Jeff Hecklinski. Nebraska assistant offensive line coach John Garrison was at a practice on Wednesday.

Washington and Arizona are among the other schools who have appeared at practices.

However, the biggest name to show at a practice is Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer, who visited Centennial on Thursday night, the team?s final full practice of the season.

Meyer was in the region this week, making an appearance at a coaching clinic and visiting with a handful of Southern California recruits. Meyer reportedly met with the family of Riverside North tight end Marcus Baugh, who committed to play for Meyer this summer.

Hunt originally was scheduled to make a visit to the Michigan campus on Friday, Dec. 14., but that had to be postponed because Hunt and his teammates will be playing Concord De La Salle in the CIF-State Open Division championship on Saturday, Dec. 15. Hunt now is expected to make the trip to Ann Arbor sometime in January.

Press-Enterprise - CENTENNIAL VS. NARBONNE: Hunt dominates line of scrimmage

12/7

?Absolutely, he?s the best,? Centennial offensive line coach Kunane Burns said emphatically. ?There are many reasons I say that. He?s one of the best players I?ve ever been affiliated with that knows the game of football. He knows it from the lineman?s position, but also from the quarterback and running back positions.

?He?s a great leader, too. He motivates the younger players and his peers really look up to him. They see what he?s doing and follow in his footsteps. We knew we had a great one a couple of years ago. It just took time until everything came out.?

Centennial coach Matt Logan estimated 70 percent of the team?s running plays are designed to use Hunt as the featured blocker. The Huskies are averaging 268 yards on the ground per game, and the running backs average 8.5 yards per carry.

L.A. Times - The Times' lineman of the year: Cameron Hunt of Corona Centennial

12/18

Recruiters, fans and sportswriters have known about Cameron Hunt of Corona Centennial since he was a starting offensive lineman as a sophomore. But what happened over the course of his senior football season revealed that Hunt had become the lineman of the year in Southern California.

"He's probably the best offensive lineman we've ever had, but I think what's even more important is his leadership," Coach Matt Logan said.

ESPN 300 OL Hunt has visits in mind
December, 21, 2012
By Brandon P. Oliver | ESPN.com

One of the more intriguing recruiting story lines in the west is that of ESPN 300 OL Cameron Hunt (Corona, Calif./Centennial). While he is still committed to the Cal Bears, the Under Armour All-American has a busy January ahead.

"I have the Under Armour Game on January 4th, then the following week is when things get really hectic," Hunt said. "I'm going to Michigan on the 12th, Oregon on the 18th and Cal on the 25th. I'm going to visit Ohio State at some point to but I need to figure that one out."

Michigan, Nebraska and Oregon offered the 6-foot-4, 274-pound Hunt after Cal fired head coach Jeff Tedford. Urban Meyer made a trip to see Hunt at his school last week, and while no offer was extended, it appears that is just a matter of time.

"I'm working on scheduling a visit to Columbus, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to make it happen," Hunt said. "Coach Meyer is a championship coach and a great guy, so an offer from them would definitely be something to consider."

Four-star OT Hunt prepares for visits
December, 31, 2012
By Mitch Sherman | ESPN.com

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Offensive tackle Cameron Hunt (Corona, Calif./Centennial), committed to Cal since July, is about to get busy again with recruiting.

Cameron Hunt looks forward to an upcoming U-M visit, for which former teammate Kyle Bosch will likely be his host.

Hunt plans to visit Michigan on Jan. 11 after he returns home from the Under Armour All-America Game, Oregon on Jan. 18 and Cal on Jan. 25.

He?s also considering Ohio State, though he has yet to set a visit. It has been a long road for Hunt, who drew little recruiting interest before a breakout camp circuit last spring.
