'13 CA WR Demorea Stringfellow (Washington Signee; Transfer to Ole Miss)

Said he verballed to the coaches months ago but was waiting for the UnderArmour game to announce it until his pals all verballed.

And yet last week at UCLA he said that Notre Dame and Ohio State are his top 2 schools. The Washington coaches can't be too happy about that...

First time I've seen his film. Looks like the prototype Meyer WR. First impression is that this kid is tough. Goes over the middle, blocks hard for his guy with the ball, sacrifices his body for the catch. The second thing that pops out is his acceleration and how high end his speed is. If he's got space, he's going 20 yards with it.

Yes, please. Hopefully we can change his mind about where he wants to spend the next 3-5 years, because he would be an exciting piece to the puzzle in this offense.

If we could pull it off, Stringfellow is the WR I would most like to see in this class, as he is the most well rounded and pure receiver. He just brings a different skillset than what we already have in this class.

I agree with this. Along with him now visiting there may be a chance. It seems we are looking at 2 more WR's, if so, any combination of Quick/Gibson/Stringfellow would be dominate.

247 - Stringfellow says he's done

12/11

The Huskies got an impressive commitment when Moreno Valley (Calif.) Rancho Verde wide receiver Demorea Stringfellow chose them in June. Since that time it's been a battle for Washington to keep the 6-foot-3, 190-pound prep in the fold with him adding new offers and taking numerous visits.

The nation's No. 137 overall player has visited UCLA and Nebraska and was also considering a trip to Ohio State.

However, last night he informs me he is shutting down the recruiting process and won't be taking any other visits.

Stringfellow headed to Nebraska

Former Washington receiver Damore'ea Stringfellow says he is transferring to Nebraska.

Stringfellow said he signed paperwork on Saturday to complete the transfer.

"I needed a new start, fresh start, and I feel like Nebraska was the best place to do so," Stringfellow told the Omaha World-Herald. "It's a great environment and a great school."

Rated No. 51 in the ESPN 300 for the Class of 2013, Stringfellow attended Rancho Verde High School in Moreno Valley, California, which also produced former Huskers wideout Quincy Enunwa and former linebacker Eric Martin.

Enunwa, drafted last month by the New York Jets, led Nebraska in receiving yardage last season and set a school record with 12 touchdown catches. The 6-foot-3, 229-pound Stringfellow caught 20 passes as a true freshman for the Huskies last fall.

He and UW quarterback Cyler Miles were involved in an altercation in Seattle after the Super Bowl with two Seahawks fans.

Both players were suspended by Washington coach Chris Petersen. Stringfellow pleaded guilty in April to three misdemeanors and was sentenced in a plea agreement to five days on a work crew, fined $693 and ordered to attend anger-management counseling.

Miles, not charged in the incident, was reinstated by Petersen in May.

NCAA transfer rules require Stringfellow to sit out at Nebraska in 2014. He would be a third-year sophomore in 2015.
