James Quick (WR Louisville)

Both Miller and Bridgewater are true sophomores, and so he won't get the benefit of having either QB longer based on his choice. Bridgewater is #8 in passing efficiency while Miller is #44, so if he's basing his decision mainly on who he'll have at QB for his first few years--and he was indeed not impressed with Miller's passing--then it might not bode well for us.

You are correct but I would like to think the Percy Harvin "playmaker" effect will come to his mind. The kid is a talent and Urban's offense will showcase that talent for all to see. Plus, Ohio State was on tv more than UL when I lived in St. Matthews.

This is where not having a bowl game could hurt us. If the race between Louiville and us is as close as they say, then perhaps that win over Florida could be enough to put them over the top.

no it won't, for someone this close to their decision, this bowl game is going to have ZERO impact

Check the mill...this one is not looking real good :(

with all due respect to him, other people (who are legit as well) say he's OSU.

I still think he's going to OSU, but I think this is one of those where i'm not sure if anyone truly knows

Just 2 days ago most national people said he was OSU, then it changes, then the next days it's different.

I'm not saying he's wrong, and I trust him, I personally just don't think it's decided yet from reading everywhere else

In other words, following this kid's recruiting is just like many others.....a rollercoaster. Every year it seems like the same story, that's what makes it fun.

Probably not a roller coaster ride for the recruit, however it is for us pure football fans.
Espn drives the thrill ride with the assumption that the NCAA BCS title for 2016 will be decided at the 2013 Underarmour game when the announcement competition for the "best talent in a recruiting class" will be officially determined. Not to derail this journey but...
Creating additional suspense by having leaks, hints, and speculation serves to drive UA viewership, multiple hats increases fan base curiosity.
Buckeyes have always trailed the hometown team in this recruiting struggle, Have to believe recent Quick speculation to OSU is more suspense driven than substance based.

Are you saying it is kind of like the made for TV reality shows? They inject phony and/or made up issues/conflicts/problems to keep you tuned into the show.

Surely ESPN would never be a part of that. :sneaky:

This is in no way a knock on the Ohio State recruiting staff, Urban Meyer, or anything Buckeye. Nonetheless, especially after watching them beat Florida, I can see how the Louisville Cardinals and Charlie Strong would be a powerful draw to a young man growing up in Louisville. Hard to criticize this decision, if indeed James elects to stay local.

I still want the kid in scarlet and gray, of course.
