'13 TN ATH Cornelius Elder (Miami FL Signee)

No what you seemed to do was question his toughness
Thats exactly what i was doing...He did a great job of breaking arm tackles but he'll have to do more than that at our level.
I never said he had to be built like Eddie to be tough, I mentioned how tough chris rainey was and he's little guy...
I agree ultimately, Meyer knows what to look for, he knows what he needs. If he thinks this kid is worth an offer, I'll trust him 100%.

Two-sport champion Cornelius Elder deserves more basketball respect
Mike DeCourcy Sporting News

INDIANAPOLIS -- Presuming you?re reading this on a computer or iPad or smartphone, which pretty much covers the gamut of how internet columns are consumed, take a moment and do a Google search on a young man named ?Cornelius Elder.? Go ahead, we?ll wait.

As you can see, just about everything returned extols his gifts as a football player. Look at him here and here. That?s him, No. 15. He does not get tackled a lot.

According to 247 Sports, which ranks him the No. 144 prospect in the nation, Elder has football scholarship offers from Ohio State, Vanderbilt and Cincinnati, and Alabama and Miami are intrigued. So if he were to walk away from basketball next spring after walking across the stage to accept his high school diploma, Elder still would have a significant future in athletics.

But that is not the plan.

Sporting News asked Elder if he has a favorite sport, and he responded succinctly: ?Basketball.? We asked if basketball is the sport he plans to pursue at the college level, and brevity reigned, again: ?Yes, sir.?

When another reporter asked him to recite the list of schools pursuing him as a point guard, he had slightly more to say: ?Um, Western Kentucky, MTSU, uh, College of Charleston, Northeastern and Florida Gulf Coast.?

Cornelius Elder still unsure on athletic path
August, 6, 2012
By Dave Hooker | ESPN.com

Cornelius Elder doesn't know where he's going to college. In fact, he still doesn't even know what sport he'll play when he gets there.

The four-star running back prospect from Nashville (Tn.) Ensworth said he is still undecided if he'll pursue one of a batch of strong football scholarship offers or pursue his passion: basketball.

?I'm not sure yet,? the ESPN 300 prospect said. ?I still haven't made that decision.?

I have really no idea where we stand with him or he stands with us... but he is the one recruit I really hope we can land this signing class. He reminds me so much of Ginn. The way he can cut in the open field is ridiculous. I'm a huge fan.

I'm a recruiting hack but isn't he somewhat similar to Jalin? Is there room for 2 guys like this in a smallish class? Seems like we need more pure WR talent to my untrained eye....oh and an elite OT, Safety and LB.

Well, if we take him, then we obviously have to boot off one of the other Jalin-like players in this class....lol

Perhaps Meyer sees him as the next Brandon James.
