CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- There may not have been a more talented group at Sunday's Illinois Nike Football Training Camp than the Chicago-area linebacker group of Clifton Garrett (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield), Nyles Morgan (Crete, Ill./Crete-Monee) and Reggie Spearman (Chicago/Simeon). But there might not be a Midwest linebacker more sought after than Garrett, a 2014 prospect.

And two traditional Midwest and national powers are in the driver's seat for the 6-foot-2, 218-pound Garrett.

"So far I think my top three would be Ohio State No. 1, then Notre Dame No. 2 and then Michigan State No. 3," said Garrett, who has a total of five offers.

Wow, I would love to land this kid. What stuck out to me in that video is his presence in the backfield and the fact that he is fundamentally sound....at least from what I saw. It sure would be nice to see him roaming the middle at OSU.

Clifton Garrett, Plainfield South, 6-3, 220, LB

Maybe the most physically impressive Class of 2014 prospect. Garrett has scholarship offers from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Ohio State. He played his first season of organized football last year and is a work in progress, but his physical tools have college coaches excited. He is planning to camp at Illinois, Ohio State and Wisconsin. He also will make an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this summer.
