A.J. Harris: Standing just 5-foot-9, the 2015 Dayton (Ohio) Dunbar point man isn't the most physically imposing guard on the circuit, but he has a big game. Harris is a devastating penetrator off the dribble, can floor defenders with crossovers and has improved his once good but now very good jump-shot from deep. A lightning quick guard as fast in transition as any guard in his class, Harris already has an offer from Dayton as well as interest from Ohio State, Cincinnati and Xavier.

Film reminds me of Anthony Crater's HS film. Sneaky, quick, explosive player on offense. Love his handles. Everyone on his team has to have their hands up at all times because they could be receiving a bullet of a pass at any time. Would love to see some film of him on D.

Men's basketball: Dayton guard becomes Buckeyes? first 2015 signee
By Bob Baptist
THE COLUMBUS DISPATCH TUESDAY AUGUST 13, 2013

On his way to visit Ohio State yesterday with his parents and brother, the last thing Dayton Dunbar point guard A.J. Harris expected was the Buckeyes to offer him a scholarship.

?I was speechless? when coach Thad Matta did, Harris said last night.
?Everybody was speechless. Everybody was looking around. I said, ?Let me think about it for a minute.? Once we got outside, he told me the plans he has for me, and I said, ?Don?t worry about it, coach. I?m coming. I?m a Buckeye.? ?

Harris is the first player in the class of 2015 to commit to the Buckeyes. Matta said heading into the summer evaluation period that he wanted to add a point guard that year to replace Shannon Scott, who has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Harris is 5 feet 9 and 150 pounds, and the offer from Ohio State was his first from a Big Ten school. But he said he thinks he won over Matta this summer by helping his King James Shooting Stars team to the semifinals of two national AAU tournaments ?by having a toughness in me, being a general on the court and getting my teammates involved.?

Harris? teammates included two high-priority Ohio State recruiting targets, 2015 shooting guard Luke Kennard of Franklin, Ohio, and 2016 wing forward V.J. King of Akron.
