Watson, Crick & A Twist
"Every Blind Pig Finds an Acorn"

Well, I don't think quite that badly of Cooper, but boy it was close.

A rare win for the Buckeyes under Cooper in Columbus from 1998.

That alone makes this a collector's item!

From tape provided by Clarity - here as 2 1.4 GB files.

Playable in VLC Player - may be copied like data onto any DVD disc and played on DiVX certified DVD set-top players.

As always -

Enjoy and Go Bucks!

Great game !

wow, I remember that game, :osu: finally beats Michigan after years of frustration as a top ranked team !!

Great post !

PS/ Do you have this in DVD format ?? I remember Clarity upload this game on Demonoid years ago, but I was at 99% and still have the file.:tongue2: but I never complete the file. I remember that game had a nice quality from a VCR.

Thanks.

I haven't seen this game in 10 years.

Watching now...

1st quarter:

If we win this game, and Wisconsin loses, we go to the Rose Bowl...or apparently, there is a chance we could go to this BCS championship thing, which nobody really knows anything about.

Keith Jackson good quote
"If Matt Keller plays another season, he could get himself a banjo."

Ohio State punted twice and scored two TDs within the first 10 minutes of the game. Seems like a lot of possessions. I remember in the 2002 game, Michigan had three field goals, and never punted, in the whole first half. Tom Brady looks horrible. Germaine started off horrible. We did a stupid pass on a 3rd and inches, and had to punt. Worst playcall ever. Cooper is pissing me off, and I already know we win. Antonie Winfield is such a stud. I didn't realize how quickly this game looked out of hand. Somehow according to ABC we had the #1 rushing defense and #2 passing defense. But somehow we had the #3 total defense. I don't think that is mathmatically possible.

We need instant replay. I don't remember this, but at the end of the 1st quarter, Germaine throws a 50 yard pass to Boston. He catches it and goes down, and then loses the ball. But they rule it a fumble. Keith Jackson, "It's a terrible call, I don't care who is playing?" Are you saying that, even if it is against Ohio State, it still is a bad call? Seriously though. It's a bad call, and instead of having the ball in Michigan territory, Michigan has it at our 10 to end the 1st quarter.

2nd quarter:

Michigan starts off with a field goal from that bonus call in the 1st. Way to let them back in the game refs. Dude...I remember now, how it seemed like the refs just loved Michigan year in and year out.

The stadium looks small. It's funny. I love the old scoreboard. I miss it. Gary Berry was fun to watch. More fans wear jerseys now than they did back then...BY FAR! Bob Griese is an idiot. He called the Buckeyes the Spartians earlier. Now he called Michigan, Michigan State. We were the most penalized team in the Big 10 in 1998. We throw the ball downfield a lot more than we do now. Apparently Keith Jackson makes a reference that this is his last year broadcasting games. HAHAHA. Good old Dan Stultz. Damn..Stultz misses, he's last in the Big 10 in FG %. I remember Stultz being good. We block a punt. That's two punt problems for Michigan. We and a celebration penalty, for celebrating with our own teammates. Totally uncalled for. Speical teams and defense is winning this game for us. 14 points off of bad punts by Michigan. Niiice. 21-3. Damn. This game isn't even close. Damn...we give up a late drive at the end of the half to let them back in the game 21-10. Said the fade looked like that MSU reciever, Plaxico Burress. Is Greise mentioning MSU on purpose to just piss off OSU fans? I say yes.

Steve Bellisari made a great tackle on special teams. Looks like he might be a good defensive player in the future.

Keith Jackson quotes:

"Got him by the coat tail."
"He was in his shirt pocket."
"After all that penalty stuff is sorted out, it really doesn't matter and it's not a big deal." (Michigan got the ball at the 20 instead of the 42)
"Na'il, spelled N A hyphen apostrophe I L"

3rd quarter:

Steve Bellisari makes another amazing hit on speical teams. Stops Anthony Thomas at the 14 on a kickoff. Man, he's going to be a great defensive player. I actually do remember sitting in the Shoe and thinking that during this game, now that I've seen that second big play by him. Fred Pagac's defense is awesome! Joe Germaine looks fast.

I guess rules are different now. Because in 1st and 10, OSU had a holding behind the line of scrimmage, but it ended up being 10 yards from the spot of the foul, and 1st and 25. Wiley has only ran the ball 6 times, but has 82 yards. Boston with another TD reception. What a huge game for him. Jay Feely looks like he could make a career kicking field goals. Seems like Tyson Walter was a Buckeye for like 9 years. Stultz makes a field goal to make it 31-13...I remember the final score is 31-16, those were like my two favorite numbers for the longest time...guess we don't score at all in the 4th quarter. Jesus...another big tackle by Bellisari. I'm telling you, watch out in the coming years. That's funny, I remember thinking Bellisari looks awesome on special teams while sitting in The Shoe that day. I really haven't remembered any of the other specific plays.

4th quarter:

Feely makes a field goal to make it 31-16 right off the bat. Guess we just see a lot of good defense for the rest of the game. Keith Jackson just said Tom Brady has played well...what game is he watching? Funny. It's the 4th quarter, we are up by 15, and we are throwing long on first down. Cooperball? Man...Wiley is having a great day, and we hardly ever give him the ball. Even when we are up by 15 in the 4th quarter. I like how Tressel finishes games like this a lot better. 4 passing plays in a row. Boston has 203 yards. Nice. 7 play drive...one run. Punt. Now they are talking about how great of a game Steve Bellisari has had. About whether Michigan can come back or not, Jackson says, "As I always say, 'Where there is a fork in the road, take it.'" WTF does that mean? Ha. Go check out the BCS at ESPN.com or AOL. Hmmm...they speak of this internet as though it's a good thing.

Yeah, they mention now that this is not Michigan's last game. They go to Hawaii after. How stupid was that? I couldn't imagine this not being the last game of the year for the Buckeyes. Griese, "Winfield might get all the credit, but Plummer is just as good." I completely disagree. Winfield is still picking off Peyton Manning...haha.

Good game. We were such a good team this year. One of the best Buckeye defenses ever, and a very solid offense to go with it. Has to be one of the best teams not to win a NC.

That was fun to watch...thanks for sharing this guys! I got pepper sprayed at this game.
