And to be consistent, I also believe that the NCAA should prevent young Rodgers from attending Vandy. Having an official visit during a 'dead period' seems like a rather blatant violation. Although Vandy probably has limited experience recruiting JuCo players.

Vandy guilty of recruiting violation

Vanderbilt committed and then self-reported an NCAA rules violation during the recruitment of junior college quarterback Jordan Rodgers. The NCAA recruiting calendar reads that the "quiet period" for the recruitment of junior college players begins on Dec. 13. The "dead period," when coaches cannot have contact with those players, runs from Dec. 14-17. Rodgers took his official visit to Vanderbilt from Dec. 13 to the morning of Dec. 15. Rodgers, the brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and a sophomore at Butte (Calif.) College, signed with the Commodores on Monday.
