2012 SEC Discussion & Division Races

Big money boosters want a game in Little Rock every year.
not sure why we got shafted by being that game every other year.

but it will be nice to play in an actual SEC caliber Stadium for that game this year.

FWIW, the tailgating in Little Rock on the golf course far exceeds the experience in NW Arky. So, for those of us who care more about the party, than the game, this is a HUGE loss.

and you wonder why other SEC still don't consider Arky a real SEC team?

true SEC teams don't have to travel to get to a real tailgate party.
and they would NEVER say anything is more important than the game.

Nutriaitch, I think Arky is now the least of your worries!

Saban caves to market pressure from other coaches in the SEC. Alabama will be the final program in the SEC to offer Four Year Scholarships.

"We're going to offer four-year scholarships," Saban said. "Our whole conference is going to do it, all the schools, I think.

"And we're happy to do it."

The bolded section is complete horseshit. He's getting crushed by other SEC coaches in terms of recruiting against him so he broke down and said yes.

they have the # of games shown on National TV? betting the numbers for the $EC are a bit higher, considering ESP(i)N slurping on them.

I would be interested in those numbers as well. Not saying it would make a difference but it is worth knowing. I was really surprised to not see the Big East at #2. Hmmm! Shocking!

Don't know if it's pertinent or not, but I can watch a handful of B1G games on the ESPN/ABC channels each weekend even out here in the PNW.

Here its usually 2 in the noontime hour and then a national game ... every once in a while i'll get lucky and the big 10 will be on during the regional coverage... but not often.

They mentioned it in the second paragraph:

A theme should be apparent: the top three conferences have almost all of their big games on ESPN/ABC. The sole exception is the SEC with its weekly feature game guaranteed to appear in every household with a TV in the country on CBS. The SEC's game of the week never has to suffer lower ratings from being put in regional coverage. The Big 12 and Pac-12 have a lot of second tier games on the Fox Sports Net channels and the Pac-12 had some on Versus, both of which which have far less carriage than ESPN and ESPN2.
