If you just had to have it in a professional stadium, I'd say it would have been much smarter to host in Cleveland - logistics aside. Far more OSU fans.

The one university in Ohio that has aspirations to challenge OSU in football is UC.(Before ORD jumps ugly on me, I agree that they are delusional aspirations to challenge OSU). It is a master stroke go directly at UC. UC's largest attendance at Paul Brown is 58,000 when they played Oklahoma in 2009. What does it say if OSU can get the same or more for the Spring game. UC average home attendance this year at Nippert is 29,138. I got to believe the Spring Game will beat it.

Rather have it in the Shoe, but its only a 20 minute drive for me now. I'm definitely going and will probably bring along some other people. It will probably be sold out down here which is more than any other team in Cincinnati can do.

Closer to go Indy-to-Cinci than Indy-to-Columbus for me.

But, still, the Shoe is where I'd prefer it to be just for the experience inside that place- spring game, season game...heck, even no one else around, it's special.

But more on the recruiting side, how many other schools hold their spring game in an NFL stadium? Whichever Florida school it is that plays at Tampa Bay? Anyone else?

It might be a good experience to say 'This is Ohio State and if you come here, this the NFL locker room and amenities you're going to have after you're done.'

(Though I hope the Bengals facilities are up to par :p)

I think this is a great idea. If we can get the areas top HS coaches to bring their players as well to watch it'd be a win win. And also the schools in Dayton hopefully come as well. Northern Ohio is already behind osu, but the southern part isn't so much. This game can hopefully change that. Us osu fans may scoff at uc's legitimacy, but tuberville can recruit, and all he needs to do is lock up recruits in cincy and nky and he can win his conference or it'll be between them and Louisville

I'll be honest...hate it. The students get screwed for a chance to play the spring game in Paul Brown? No thanks. UC is nowhere near, nor will ever be near OSU. And if you ask me, northern Ohio needs more of an OSU brand enhancement than SW Ohio.

Even if all that is true, it makes it less likely that recruits will get on campus with the game in Cincy and the students make up most of the attendance in the 'Shoe...I doubt it sells out. I know if I was still a student, I would be furious. I always looked forward to going to the Spring Game and for free. Plus it messes with tradition. Cannot emphasize how much I hate this.
