Accused Former Syracuse Assistant Bernie Fine

... the kid (Davis) lived with Fine and his wife for a while, and the wife seemingly knew that her husband was attracted to guys, and at least in 2002 (when the tape was made) knew that Fine had abused Davis when he was a kid.

And Davis also says that he slept with Mrs. Fine when he was 18, and then told the husband about it a few years after that, and Fine didn't get very [censored]ed off at all. The wife's comments make it sound like he wasn't sexually interested in her for a long time, at one point she says that for her husband, "it's all about the dick".
I had no idea Fine lived in New Jersey.

IT'S A JOKE!

he also said if something else comes out, he has the right to re-evaluate. as long as he didn't know, he's fine.

Boeheim is in some measure of trouble, in the court of public opinion at least. It's one thing to be supportive while reserving the right to re-evaluate. It's another thing to attack the motives of the accuser/alleged victim the way he did.

You have to admit though, he's getting much better legal advice than Paterno. Contrast his statement today with what Joe had to say on the front porch.

Amazing what happens when you don't use nepotism to choose you representation.

In case you're wondering, Laurie Fine:

In case you're still wondering, Bernie Fine:

I'm guessing they both had limited options.

As soon as I saw Boeheim's comments I thought that he had hung himself. It was absolutely ludicrous the stance he took relative to Fine and the potential victims.

IMHO he should be gone....

Dan Patrick on his radio show really did bring up a good point as to why ESPN didn't go to the police, if the network had a taped conversation.

Just with its power (and the network doesn't care about backlash or criticism), sometimes its good to have checks on ESPN (like former employee Dan Patrick and certain Sports Illustrated columnists).

I would love those aholes at ESPN to have to answer some tough questions about this. Unfortunately, they have the microphones and cameras and get to set the agendas. Unless, of course, they are subpoenaed. :sneaky:

On a less facetious note, heard this last night & realized it might answer some people's questions about why the original complaint went nowhere fast:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/29/syracuse-scandal-dennis-duval-bernie-fine_n_1118710.html?ref=college&ir=College

On Tuesday, current Syracuse Police Chief Frank Fowler revealed that the former Syracuse police chief, Dennis DuVal, was made aware of the allegations in 2002 when former SU ball boy Bobby Davis told a Syracuse police detective. DuVal played basketball at Syracuse during the early 1970s while current head coach Jim Boeheim was an assistant coach under Ray Danforth. ...Nearly three decades later, he would be presented with accusations against a coach at his alma mater and would choose not to act decisively.

Oh, yeah...dirty little liars...nothing to see here...move along...

PS Are we supposed to believe DuVal also never picked up a phone and called his old asst. coach after he learned of this?
