Adrian Peterson (official thread)

He's going to be a beast in the NFL. The Browns desparately need a line, but I wouldn't be too upset if they spent their 1st round pick on AP.
Peterson is the guy that I definitely want in Cleveland. It's amazing how good a mediocre line can look when there's a guy like AP carrying the ball.

As a Browns fan, I fully expect the Browns to completely waste their #1 pick.

But if they happen to surprise me and make a great pick like Peterson (I want them to take Troy) I would worry about Peterson's running style. He is such a battler that I'm not sure how long he's going to last in the NFL. The guy is a brutal runner, and while that is fun to watch, I'm not sure he'll be healthy enough to be around for a full season of NFL football.

Browns need to pick up Joe Thomas from Wisconsin, or even Justin Blalock from Texas. Both of those guys could instantly help shore up their offensive line problems.

Kind of like Eddie George? That seemed to work out alright for the Oilers/Titans. As a Steelers' fan though, I concur that they should waste their #1 pick.

If Peterson is takne by someone other than the browns he should have a good nfl career, if the Browns take him I give him half a year

I don't think that AP will be available for the Browns to pick, though I'd be thrilled if he were. He's a rare beast, and even though I agree fully about the Browns desperately needing Thomas or Blalock, you can't pass on a guy like that.

Personally, I think he ends up in Houston.

peterson coming back?

ive heard from a couple OU fans that peterson is coming back for his senior year. obviously a rumor but you would think a guy of his caliber would have declared already and he never really said he was leaving ever so this could prove interesting if it comes true come monday.

kind of retarded on his part if he comes back. He has everything going for him right now. Take it while its there.

You may be right but Peterson with all of the talent he has will be in the same position next year if he comes back, maybe even better when he fully recovers from his injury and NFL scouts won't worry about that anymore.

so are you saying that it would be the best and smartest thing to do and return next year?

Is it? (playing devil's advocate)

Might he have heard that his injuries and reckless running style concern some NFL scouts? Would some teams opt for Lynch or Bush instead of Peterson?

Next year is deeper overall at RB, but doesn't seem as good at the top. McFadden (if he declares) seems like the only elite NFL prospect, imo.
