Akron RB Dennis Kennedy (official thread)

- A day after releasing Canadian running back Jesse Lumsden, the Eskimos announced the signing of 24-year-old import running back Dennis Kennedy of the University of Akron. Kennedy, who rushed for more than 2,500 yards in his four-year college career, will compete for a backup spot behind Arkee Whitlock.

Thanks

Hey guys! My name is Derek. I'm the younger brother to Dennis. I was very surprised to see this complete thread on Dennis during his final year in HS to the signing to a CFL team. I just want to take the time out to, on behalf of the Kennedy family, express our complete gratitude for the love, support, and prayers that the Buckeye nation showed us during the time our father lost the battle with cancer. My mother continues to cherish those cards. You guys really are a complete nation like non-other. I was close to tears, honestly speaking, just reading the posts concerning the death of our father. Yes, it continues to be a sad part of life, but my father spoke to us just hours before he lost the capabilities to speak or see. And those words he spoke to Dennis, gave him the strength to continue on with his dream of playing for Ohio State and professional. And, yes, Dennis was very thrilled to play for the Buckeyes, and when it happened to where it wasn't going to be, it hurted him. But he held on and went to Akron thanks to the help of those at OSU.
But life has been good for Dennis. He just finished a season with the Tri-Cities Fever(Washington) in the Indoor Football League. They made it all the way to the championship. Didnt win it, though :(. He continues to push and work hard to making it into the league. I will most definitely forward this thread to him to show him that he is still loved by many.
Again, thank you guys dearly. I just had to register an account so that I could post a reply to this thread. You guys are GREAT!
I will keep you all updated.
Thanks again!

Derek
