Nick Saban (ex-HC Alabama Crimson Tide)

I don't know. Seems like something Bert would be big on.
Bert's big on many things.

I'd go so far as to say Bert's just big.

When U can’t cut the cheese as a cfb player, U get cut TO where a program with a need will give U a home. At BAMA, the roster is LOADED with HIGH level talent. As they say in the Army, “$h!t ROLLS DOWN HILL”. Rolllllll TIDE!!!"

Classy. Also, I don't think the guy knows what "cut the cheese" means.

Cheese, mustard...often confused for each other.

Also, "$h!t ROLLS DOWN HILL”. Rolllllll TIDE!!!" What is he saying, exactly? That all the $h!t rolls down until it ends up at Alabama?

According to rivals Saban signed the number 2 recruiting class this year. I think that is probably good for him. I've never seen anybody do less with so much talent. Let me explain. In 2009 Saban won the title. His previous classes were ranked 18 11 10 and 1. He then won 2 more titles after classes ranked 1 5 and 1.then he had 3 more top ranked classes and no more titles. He got so far the last few years based on talent alone. But he is missing one thing. He is missing a Bradley Roby. He is missing a Darron Lee. He is missing that leader that plays with intense heart. He has a bunch of extremely talented athletes that want nothing more than to join a national title winning team rather than create one. Here's to taking that first group of kids that signed after his third national title and sending them to the nfl without one of their own. Most of them will either go to the nfl next year or have their a schollies pulled for non performance.

Well the prior will be a little bit more difficult now that he has to give out 4 year guaranteed scholarships, but if we know anything about Nick Saban it's that he will find a way to skirt the rules.

I do agree though, the amount of talent he has going through the program is ridiculous. Really makes you question his coaching ability and the validity of recruiting rankings.

The only reason why Saban didn't get his fourth straight #1 class was that USC signed three 5* recruits in less than 24 hours...

It's very hard to win National Titles. I think you illustrated the point. That's why next year's season, although we're all expecting greatness, is still going to be a struggle from day one because it always is....

give it a rest....Saban and UFM are 1a and 1b when it comes to coaching their kids.

Fwhat? He won three titles in four years ('09, '11, '12), then missed the next two on a FG return TD ('13) and a one possession loss to Ohio St (INT in the end zone for the tie) in the semi-final.

Are you seriously arguing he's slipped when he's a few plays away from five titles in six years?
I im saying his kids are too self confident to win these big games. They have more talent than everyone but he is missing those 3 star guys that play with heart and will a team to victory. Those are very important players. He had them in 09 and in 11 he had those as juniors and seniors. He now has the most talented college players in the country that KNOW they are the most talented.

2 years ago he lost to auburn in the national title game by a field goal. No wait that wasn't a national title game. He then took his 5 stars and got pummeled by a bunch of Oklahoma 3 stars that play with heart.
And I take a lot of offense to how you phrase the semi. Lost by an int in the end zone? After we were up by 14 with a few minutes to go and that dreaded prevent defense let them back in? Our guys dominated that game and gave them a bunch of freebies throughout that they couldn't pull away with. They even interviewed players before the game that were expecting to just walk out there and win. He has a team of cocky 5 stars that can no longer win the big game.

I see what TampaBuckeye is saying, his teams are probably the most talented on paper but they seem to be complacent and don't have that underdog mentality to play with heart rather than talent. Talent can go a long way but playing with heart gets you over the top.(us being underdogs in the Sugar Bowl being down by 2 scores)
