.... "But now I am starting at the H position, which is the most prolific position on offense and I am getting a lot more touches. It feels way better. It is way more tiring, but it feels way better."....

... "He couldn't play receiver last year. He didn't know what the hell he was doing," Herman said of Wilson. "He was 175 pounds or whatever the heck he was. So his ability limited us, and ability doesn't just include running fast and making guys miss. There's a lot that goes into usability in the offense." ...
... Wilson said he anticipates getting the ball in a variety of different ways, whether that's catching the ball down field, on a screen or taking handoffs out of the backfield on jet sweeps.

"I can do it all, man," he said. ....

Less people talking about Dontre than last year, which is ironic to me. With no Hyde, and with a year under his belt, I expect BIG things from Dontre. He's going to be a gamebreaker this year.
EZ E, Miller, killer freshman class, more than 1 linebacker, huge defensive line...
When you have so much to look forward to it's hard to give attention to one H back no matter how good he is. It's the price of having a talented team.

EZ-E touched the ball last year when the games were already in hand. People are very excited for him, based on his 11+ yards per carry against FAMU and his practice hype. Dontre was a part of the gameplans last year and I expect him to be a bigger part of the gameplans going forward now that Carlos is gone.
The issue isn't with Wilson, but with the lack of use we saw last year for him. If they use him, the excitement will come back. As of right now, he's mostly a decoy
We used him plenty. He had like 500 yards of offense last year in an offense that was the most prolific in school history. Did you want them to give it to Carlos LESS? Carlos is gone now, look for the coaches to fill the void with other talents, such as Dontre.

31 attempts in 14 games. That's 2.2 touches a game. And they had no problem giving it to Carlos less in the scUM and Clemson games.

Since for some reason it won't allow me to edit the post right now, he also only had 22 catches as well. That's 1.5 receptions for some who caught most their catches behind the LOS.

For an average of 3.7 time sa game he was involved in the game other than a decoy.

Those per-game stats are virtually meaningless and not at all indicative of his value to last year's team. He played meaningful snaps against meaningful opponents and made plays when his number was called, which is my original point. It's hard to get snaps as a true frosh and Dontre did just that. On top of that, he had to compete for touches with players responsible for the most prolific offense in Ohio State's history. As a frosh, he put up nearly 500 yards of offense. Not too bad for a kid who needed the weight room more than anybody.

Conversely, EZE has the fan base hyped for his arrival into the starting lineup. My only question is, what has he done? He went OFF on FAMU and didn't have a meaningful carry all season. I'm a huge fan of his potential but I don't get why everyone is expecting more from him than they are from Dontre.

No one here is anti-Dontre - I sense you feel that we are. The point is, from a strictly "on paper" view of this coming season this team should be loaded and the problem with a loaded team is that there's more than one player worthy of attention.
