Quarterback Jalin Marshall opened the Middletown scoring with a 72-yard touchdown run and went on to throw two more. Middies wide receiver Zach Edwards caught five passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns.

Moeller holds off Middletown, 42-30

Middletown outgained Moeller 476-385, including 296 yards rushing and two touchdowns by junior quarterback Jalin Marshall, but Marshall was also intercepted twice and Moeller twice stopped Middletown on downs.

"We contained (Marshall) enough to win," said Moeller coach John Rodenberg. "That's a great team and a great player. One of the best in the state."

Marshall had a touchdown run of 50 yards and rambled 74 yards on the first play of the second half to set up a six-yard touchdown run by senior E.J. Junior 38 seconds into the third quarter and give Middletown a 24-21 lead.

Moeller answered with 14 straight points but Marshall got the Middies to within five points with 5:59 left with a seven-yard touchdown run. It capped an 11-play, 83-yard drive after the Middletown defense held Moeller's offense on downs.

All kidding saide, Marshall is so the real deal. 296 yards rushing in the playoffs against Moeller? Sheesh.

He is the most explosive threat to come out of Ohio in at least a couple years IMO. I just hope he realizes his future is not at QB and makes that switch to WR. Percy Harvin type role in college would fit his talent like a glove.

I'm not looking forward to having to face him.
