I once had a WVU fan brag to me that a stadium full of WVU fans could "beat up" a stadium full of Ohio State fans.

When I told him the numbers involved (which he was totally unaware of) he gave it a second thought before coming to the same conclusion.

Also, this was a WVU student... not just some fan from the hills.

So, um, yeah. That is a nice microcosm of what their students/fan base is like.

Let's compare.

102,329 (record: 106,033) vs 60,000 (record: 70,222)

Can you guess which belongs to which?

I would almost rather see the B1G target Rutgers or Syracuse if they end up dropping PedState

What do you do with the state of PA? If PedSU goes away and Pitt just joined ACC...do we pick up Temple to carry PA? I kid! UVa and/or Maryland have been thrown around plenty on this thread. Tough call with the PedSU "situation". Who knows, if the FACTS are ever found then we will have to find a PedSU replacement.

First off, the hillbillies will never even be considered. I'll personally, beat Delaney down with a dirty plunger if this happens.

Second, PITT will shit on the ACC and come running the moment we call them.

Third, and if you don't want Pitt, you go to 14 and encircle the fucking state: Maryland, Rutgers and Syracuse/BC.

Rutgers = the same Jersey shore wannabees that make up a large portion of the PSU alumni mob + an athletic department with fewer varsity sports than your local HS

Syracuse = Bernie Fine pedophile scandal + refocusing away from research/graduate studies

Maryland = an AD so far in the red they're auctioning off teams survive

BC = Notre Dame except with no one interested enough to watch.

Together that is one giant steaming pile of fail. Maryland is probably salvageable if for no other reason than it is a fantastic research institution (actually Rutgers is a solid academic fit as well...but it's not worth getting stuck with the guidos). Otherwise the B1G would be better served by passing on all of the above.
