crazy deal for all

Maryland should bolt for the BigTen right now. The BigTen would strengthen its presence in a the East and UMd would be lower-mid tier in FB and upper tier in BB. We need a pipeline to better demographics and with PSU down, it would shore up an area where our conference is taking a hit.

I've lost any faith in Delany making a bold move or risking upsetting anyone (Rose Bowl, other bowls, other conferences, domers) by vigorously pursuing the best interests of the Big Ten.

But you're right. We should make a power play for MD (who clearly wants to keep their options open) and either BC or UVA right now. Let these fucks (and that includes the domers) know that nothing is over until we say it is.

Fuck it. Let's make a move for Bama and LSU and USC and Texas. That will show them. We can call it B1G CUSA. Huh, any takers?

Or Maryland and UVA will work I guess.

I agree.

ND canceled 2015-16-17 games with TSUN. Basically ending the series. They must be serious about playing 5 ACC games.

You're about a week late there...welcome to the party

about a week = ?

While ND canceling the 2018 and 19 games is old news the 15-17 was semi-new. The point I was making is that ND is actually clearing their schedule to play 5 games vs. the ACC in 2015. They have 4 on it now and needed to cancel 1 team to add 1 ACC. Same with 2016. 2017-19 they hardly have any games scheduled.

So, ND is then serious about semi-joining the ACC in football.

Back to B1G expansion... IF conference's feel the need to move to 16 Universities, I would honestly love to add the University of Toronto. They would be bad at first, but I really think they would get VERY competitive VERY quickly! Plus, their academics are second to none!

They would immediately pull all the best Canadian talent (80-90% at worst) in football and basketball, and the market (a lot of Canada) they bring would add a large financial boost to the conference. Once hockey is added to the B1G as a conference sport, can you imagine the following the B1G would get in hockey as UofT strives for a frozen four berth?

Toronto's a great city, and they already have an indoor football stadium that hosts close to 60,000 (I think).

I'm sure they've been mentioned in this thread already, but didn't really feel like fishing through all of the pages... Anyone else have any opinions on the University of Toronto as the 16th member of the B1G (obviously, definitely not as worthy as Nebraska or Penn State as a stand alone offer).

They've been mentioned a few times here, I think. I think it'd be a great idea, but would be a huge reach for the B1G. However, it would certainly be worth it if any legal hurdles could be cleared (any issues with playing cross-country football games?).

As I said, welcome to the party. It had already been kicked around for nearly 4 days by the time you even posted it.
