Some Big Ten Network financials to chew on as SEC prepares to unveil its network: Each BT school received more than $34 M from BTN 2008-12.

stu durando ‏@studurando 12h According to industry analyst SNL Kagan, BTN net revenue was $166M in 2008, $262M in 2012 and projected at $408M in 2017.

stu durando ‏@studurando 12h And BTN realized an $85.6M profit in 2012 with a projection of $167.3M in 2017.

and unlike the sec network, when that revenue stream continues to explode, they won't have to wait two decades to see a bump in their earning power.

I've said all along that It was going to be an SEC branded ESPN channel. A number of SEC fans swore up and down that wouldn't be the case.

My question is, does the SEC have a "peak in" or "jump in" or "escalator" clause in the contract with ESPN? I don't know what the correct term is.

In other words, if the Big Ten signs its deal with FOX and FOX pays the conference a huge amount, does the SEC have a clause with ESPN to "up" their payments (to top the Big Ten)?

And the Big Ten will be signing with FOX. I'm just wondering if the 51/49 with BTN will be renegotiated (you'd assume it would be).

2012 season games over next 3 days

COLUMBUS, Ohio ? In case you missed it, Ohio State won all 12 of its football games last season. If you'd like a more in-depth recap of 2012, the Big Ten Network is making that available for the next three days.

BTN will replay all 12 OSU games from last year in eight and nine-hour blocks today, Wednesday and Thursday. That's 26 hours of winning for OSU fans who can't wait until Aug. 31 for the live version to get started this year. (It's also a nice opportunity for anyone who needs to check on some plays from last year and whose DVR ate all the games. You know, if that happened to anyone.)

Here's your schedule for the next three days, with my star rating, on a one to five scale of watchability.

I won't list the scores from the games, becauase I don't want to ruin the endings.

Ohio State's preview on BTN is Aug. 13.

I wish they would make the show an hour instead of 30 minutes, but that's greedy.

Just think if BTN takes the time/cost to send Revsine, DiNardo and Griffith on the bus throughout Big Ten country, maybe make the show an hour (even though there's probably only a few conference schools that much time).

About five years ago when BTN first started traveling around the league during fall practice and doing these preview shows they were 90 minutes long.

I remember Lamarr Thomas was on the team and it was Pryor's first season at OSU.

They arrived at OSU the very first day of practice

You saw guys in shorts and shirts (no pads) and going through conditioning drills.

This year, OSU is the No. 2 preview, so BTN will be at OSU very early.

Camp opens August 4. I think they film the day before it airs. So they'll be at the August 12th practice. I would prefer to see them there further into practice, but I'm sure more than a week into practice they should at least be in pads.
