Still getting platooned after all these years, huh?

I never thought about that (heehee)

Scoonie Penn's on that radio show/TV simulcast in the winter to represent OSU. I guess FOX is putting it on FOX Sports Radio in Big Ten states (just B1G states) full-time at 6 pm ET/5 pm CT and bumping Pat O'Brien off. No clue what they talk about in the Spring.

I know, I know...but come the fuck on.

1. Who is the leading contender to be Big Ten Coach of the Year?

A. Ohio State’s Urban Meyer
B. Minnesota’s Tracy Claeys
C. Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio
D. Wisconsin’s Gary Andersen

Answer: C. Claeys is an interesting option. Could an interim head coach win the honor? Bruce Arians did it with the Indianapolis Colts last season in the NFL when he filled in for Chuck Pagano, who was battling cancer. Doubtful for Claeys, as Jerry Kill appears primed to return to the sideline soon, but interesting food for thought. So, at this point, Dantonio has to be the choice. The Spartans were coming off a disappointing 7-6 season that saw MSU go 2-5 at home after MSU won 11 games in 2010 and 2011. And the offense was a mess early on, as the staff searched for answers at quarterback. No more. The offense has stabilized and the defense is playing out of its minds. Now, the Spartans are 8-1 overall and 5-0 in the Big Ten, on track to play in the conference title game for the second time in three years. Not bad.

So because Dantonio's team sucked last year, this year he's COY?

How about giving it to the best coach in the B1G just once in a while. I mean shit, he hasn't lost a game yet.

Could Urban do what any other B1G coach has done at their respective school? Could any of those coaches do what Urban has done here? Thought so. What a joke.

I hope Urban doesn't win it. It would go against tradition, and we all know that we've been straying too far from our roots already (stop wearing those damned alternate jerseys!).

It's just absurd that the second best coach in the country and arguably the best recruiter doesn't win B1G COY despite not having lost a single turduckin game since he entered the B1G.

I mean, is it possible for tOSU's coach to ever win the award? If not, it shouldn't exist.

Well, he should get it for such a turn-around...just like Urban won it last year for taking an Ohio State team coming off it's worst record in a quarter century and leading it to a perfect season. Oh wait...
That's what's so absurd. Is it a "comeback" COY? Nope, cause Urban didn't win it last year nor JT in 2001. Is it the coach with the best record? Obviously not. Is it the Rose Bowl coach? No again.

That's what you'd think if only looking at tOSU coaches. But Brady Hoke won it. SEEMS LEGIT.

Urban doesn't need a trinket DHLed from Chicago to recognize he's the best coach in the conference. He's got bigger fish to fry.

Yeah I know I know. It's still crazy that when my grandkids look back at this time period on that generations wikipedia, there will be at least a 25 year gap between tosu coaches of the year, which will seem especially strange when they look at conference records.
