does anyone know if dish network is going to carry the big ten channel

Here is the responce I recieved from Dish network. If you have dish I encourage you to ask them about it as well (the more people asking about it helps our chances of getting it).

"Thank you for your e-mail. Specific information regarding your request for Big Ten Network is not currently available. We would like to add that channel, to make viewers like you happy, but we do not know if or when this will happen. We will gladly forward your request to our Programming Department for further consideration.
We thank you for your input as we continually review our options in order to provide a compelling lineup.
Your business is greatly appreciated and we thank you for allowing us to be of assistance to you. If you have any further questions or concerns, please refer to www.dishnetwork.com or reply to this email.
Sincerely,
Nicholas P.

Exactly my point, those 15 plus the 15 they have and you get 30--not 70, which is still alot less than the other providers. That also depends on successful launches of their 2 new satellites, which have not been launched yet, and have already had 2 previous setbacks. My only point is don't buy a product on what they promise you, buy a product on their current offerings.

DIRECTV will also extend its leadership in HD sports programming by offering hundreds of games and other HD programming available from Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) around the country, including YES Network, Comcast Sports Net, New England Sports Network and FOX Sports.

I'm not. I had every Ohio State game I needed prior to this cash-grab cable expansion.

True. But when ABC/ESPN had all of the games, they can hold those games for ransom. And you get games only shown on their super-double-secret channels, like ESPN-U. Put more games on another network, and I don't believe you get as many games stuck on ESPN-U.

And that cash-grab began last year. I'm no less pissed off about it than the Big Ten Network scam.

Those evil corporations...they're....they're....well DAMN them, they're out to make MONEY! WTF is THAT all about...I thought they were supposed to be there to give me my MTV.

Honestly, every network and every entertainment venue, including our beloved Buckeyes, are out to make a buck... A LOT of them. I wonder if your employer thinks the same way about you when you get a paycheck. Damn him....he's just takin' our money...what a bastard!

Is Ruth's Chris scamming you because you have to buy the potato with the steak? Is itunes scamming you because you have to pay by the song?

Big Ten Network in negotiations with local cable television

By George M. Thomas

The Big Ten Network continues to announce staff additions, but we have yet to hear anything related to who's going to carry the new cable station locally.
What? You've not heard of this enterprise? A quick primer: the Big Ten Network, slated to begin airing in August, is being created by one of the NCAA's premier athletic conferences in conjunction with Fox Cable Networks to provide a broadcast venue for all things sports from these primarily Midwestern universities.

Article states that Comcast is in negotiations....which is good since Comcast is one of the major cable players in the country. But I wonder, even if Comcast at a national level decides to move forward, does it follow that each regional Comcast outfit WILL DEFINITELY offer the channel? I've seen cases in the past where Comcast in the northeast was different from Comcast in the southwest. Just curious.
