Normally, I'd be right there with you. This time, however, I'm very intrigued by what the committee does if UNC beats Clemson. Do you pass up the legit ACC champion who won the conference championship game by beating the team that beat the domers in favor of.....the domers. And if they do that, do cracks start appearing in the domer-ACC relationship? Does it open up the possibility for the Big Ten to raid UVA and UNC?

Cherce la money de TV. The talking heads on ESPN have been giving it to the Irish this week, citing their maneuvering to keep their own TV contract, their keeping all of their bowl revenue and adding that it's time the committee say ONLY a conference champion can be in the CFP. While that won't be such an issue if the playoffs move to 8 teams (In a sense they already have with the ACC, SEC, PAC and Big Ten having CCGs), it doesn't answer what to do about ND and the Big 12.

Funny also that though they were perfectly willing to go after the Irish for having their own TV deal, they remained mum about LHN or the relationship between the SEC and ESPN. Clearly there's a lot of money at stake for all involved and attacking ND is bound to please their SEC customers and many others.

I also believe that ESPN has the rights to put together an ACC network, so the desire to herd ND into that is certainly driving their narrative.

If I'm ND, the last ACC school that I want to alienate with my selfish bullshit is UNC. They might be able to get away with screwing over FSU or Boston College, but screw over UNC and the parasites may very well be on the road looking for a new host for basketball and Olympic sports. However, I seriously believe that ND is too blindly arrogant to even consider the ramifications of their actions. They'll fuck UNC and expect to be thanked for it.

FWIW, I think Notre Dame is locked into the NBC deal through 2025; however, that would just be for Notre Dame's home games:

NBC's Notre Dame deal extended

NBC and Notre Dame said the extension would begin in 2016 and run through the 2025 season.

ESPN has effectively owned the ACC since its inception. The ACC is kinda their baby... we don't hear much about it, though, because they haven't invested much in that baby. Even with basketball counted in, the ACC lags far behind the other 4 conferences in tv revenue. The only reason BXII is the more at-risk conference is that it seems like most of the ACC is happy to accept less, whereas the BXII thinks they should be treated like the 3 older conferences and especially the namesake conference whose branding they mimic and stole.
