Browns +7.5 at Cowboys (ov/un 43.5) Sun 1

Definitely not their best effort today. I give them a solid 'B' for technical merit... their grade could have been higher if they didn't have to go to overtime to finish blowing it, but in the end they got the job done. For artistic merit I give them a 'C-'. The part where they actually took the lead back for a moment... that showed some creativity. The long pass interference penalty was trite though. They are capable of losing in much more ingenious and entertaining fashion.

hey Dallas still has a time out - they can still ice their own kicker again

Dallas had that TO because Shurmur, for some dumbfuck reason, hurried a play before the 2 minute warning when it was obvious to Ray Charles that Dallas was going to start taking their TOs to preserve the clock. It's shit like that which makes this clown the most clueless coach in NFL history. Dude makes Rich Kotite look like Tom Landry.

And all the Weeden Johnson-riders need to explain to me exactly how he looked like a future solid starter in the NFL today. He had all day on play after play, and he couldn't hit anything anywhere. If he can't light up a medicore defense with all day to throw, he doesn't belong in this league. I want him to succeed, I really do, but I didn't like what I have seen the past couple of games.

I view the Browns in the same light as OSU this year. No postseason available, so get a head start in recruiting (draft). Chiefs need to win, Jags need to win, and we keep losing. New leadership hopefully gets solid picks and a new coaching staff.

pat shurmur ran the extra play fully knowing that if they didn't score, he'd be able to use all 3 timeouts and get the ball back. of course, it worked. of all the dumb moves the guy makes, this actually wasn't one of them.

all those downfield camera shots that they kept showing, the ones where cleveland's wr's were totally blanketed play after play, had something to do with it.

Well you had 2 halves...one where he had all day to throw, and one where he was pressured but there was a lot more space on the field because they were rushing extra guys. He was ineffective in both, and that's pretty much all you are going to see in the NFL. So if he can't handle either, he is in trouble. Everyone wasn't blanketed on every play, he missed some guys that by NFL standards were open.

Except that everyone knew Dallas was going to take their timeouts to preserve clock if Cleveland scored. In that situation, you let it run down. Running the play before the 2 had nothing to do with them getting the ball back.

Andrew Luck had a pretty shoddy day against New Englands defense.

Colts fans should probably stop "riding his Johnson" as well.

Rookie. Say it with me now... Rooooooook...ieeeeeeee. Very good.

29 years old or 22 years old. You still have to adjust your game to the next level, it takes time. I've seen enough to believe he'll be better then
Couch, Brady, Garcia etc etc. Christ we're still building the rest of the team. And if he ends up being even a remotely decent QB, then by Cleveland standards - that's a giant fucking step in the right direction.
