Georgia High School Football Daily Spotlight: All-State Teams: Class AAAAA

...
OFFENSE - 1st Team
WR: Brad Roby, Peachtree Ridge (AJC)

...
Disagreements
Griffin Roelle vs. Brad Roby (WR): Lassiter?s Roelle (pronounced Raleigh) led Class AAAAA with 76 catches. If you?re going strictly by accomplishments as a receiver, he?s the choice. We had a dilemma because the AJC team calls for only 25 players instead of the AP?s 27. The AP picks a fourth linebacker and a return man. Space issues forced us to squeeze out Roelle in favor of Roby, who had only 29 catches (in a running offense, we might add) but was perhaps the state?s most versatile player. Roby scored touchdowns five ways. We could?ve put Roby at athlete, but that would?ve bumped Ean Days, Camden County?s best player. We could?ve put Roby at defensive back, too. In the end, we favored all-around contribution.

Roby to visit Ohio State and Auburn
Monday, December 21, 2009
Posted by JC Shurburtt

Athlete Bradley Roby (Suwanee, Ga./Peachtree Ridge) is still committed to Vanderbilt, but is considering two other programs and will make official visits to each.

The 6-foot, 170-pound speedster will visit Ohio State and Auburn officially in January, along with the Commodores. The Vanderbilt visit is scheduled for the weekend of Jan. 15. Either the Tigers or Buckeyes will be on Jan. 8 and the other later.

"Both Ohio State and Auburn want me to come in the first weekend in January, so I will have to decide that," Roby said.
...
"He wants me to come to Ohio State," Roby said. "If I did end up going there, it would be nice to have someone there from my school that I already know."
...
"Ohio State is definitely No. 2 and then Auburn," he said.
...
"I am going to look at how well I bond with the current players," he said. "I went to Vanderbilt several times during the summer and spent time with their players. I felt like I really fit into their program and their system, so I went ahead and committed. I had not visited any other schools that I felt that way when I was around the players. If I like it and like the other schools in that way, then I will consider switching."

With his mom in attendance at the Rose bowl, I know that she had to just be enamored with the atmosphere.

Add the level of comfort she could find with her good friends son being a standout on our roster, you have to like our chances.

Vandy has three WR commits and they're looking at him as WR while we're looking at him at corner.

As a Vandy undergrad, I know all too well that we need all the WR help we can get right now. Our top 2 wide receivers had 300 something yards and a TD apiece this past season. The Buckeyes are always number one in my heart, but I wouldn't be too disappointed to see this one slip through.

I'm thinking more since I've now heard this twice and there's no way they got their info from the same place.

Yeah, still has one more hoop to go through (telling the Vandy staff)

Usually, I'd be pretty confident, but those SEC staffs have a way of working last minute heroic saves..............

Did he visit tOSU this weekend? That's impressive if they can get a kid from the south right when we are displaying our most pleasant climatic attributes. :wink2:

This actually wasn't a bad weekend to have him visit. The south is experiencing unseasonably cold temps, and I know on Friday in Atlanta they had ice, and a high of 14. So the weather up here was actually warmer for once lol.
