Knocking the dust off this one.

Congrats to Gareon on becoming a Buckeye. Always good to see an Ohioan stay home and play for the Bucks. Conley has the potential to make a contribution on either side of the ball, which makes what happens going forward in WR recruiting not as pivotal. I am exited to add another potential stud corner to the class, which could allow the muscular Cam Burrows to move to safety. I believe he will ultimately make his mark where he is needed most.

On a side note, MGOBLOG had 70+ posts within about 0ne-half hour of the Bank tweet. I would guess about half stable, and half in meltdown mode. I now see with the committment verification, the thread is locked with 184 posts. That is one obsessive arrogant fan base.

Another great Eleven Warriors article:
http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2012/12/17287/gareon-conley-commits-to-ohio-state-football

All it took was 24 hours on Ohio State's campus with Urban Meyer for ATH Gareon Conley to switch sides in the rivalry.
The former Michigan commitment and Massillon Washington product became the eighteenth member in the Buckeyes' recruiting class of 2013 when he decided to give the staff his verbal pledge during his Wednesday through Friday visit to Columbus with his mother.
The 6-2/170 Conley is an Under Armour All-American (videos here and here) rated as a four-star prospect by 247, Scout, and ESPN, and a three-star by Rivals. He is ranked as high as the ninth best cornerback in the country (ESPN) and has a composite ranking of seventeenth best at the position, although the OSU coaches have talked to him about possibly playing wide receiver in Columbus.
This is a huge get for Meyer and the staff for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, Conley is an excellent player who can provide much needed depth at either cornerback or wide receiver. Second, the Bucks land another Massillon Washington star, allowing them to continue a strong relationship with the program that has most recently brought them Devin Smith, and has some talented 2014 prospects on the radar. Finally, OSU takes away a significant member of Michigan's recruiting class, adding more fuel to the rivalry and weakening a conference opponent at the same time.
We will catch up with Gareon to get more on his commitment to Ohio State, so stay tuned to the 11W front page for a story in the near future, as well as the latest happenings on the recruiting trail

Yep, bring on those Massillon players!!!

Great commit for osu! I hope he stays on defense and strengthens our defensive backfield. Cant have enough pass rushing DEs and lockdown cbs. Especially when we play the spread passing teams

#9, #10, and #17 CBs in the nation per Scout. Not too shabby...

#4, #5, and #42 per rivals.

Conley is 42, but they may not have revisited the ranking after checking out recent tape.

Of course, in the end, ranking won't mean a thing. Up to them to become great college CB's.

Welcome to OSU Gareon.

Welcome to OSU Gareon.

They've actually had multiple guys see him live this year and just weren't overly impressed. So I doubt you see him move up much at all.

Always interesting when there are such big differences in opinion, but he obviously has some real upside if some are so high on him, including Urban Meyer.
