CB Gareon Conley (D.C. Defenders)

Scout $ - Conley To Visit Ohio State For The Game

11/22

By The Bank.....Confirms that he's visiting for The Game. Plans on taking an official to Oregon, where he was told he'd receive an offer, and also to Ohio State. Respects the Michigan staff, but has to do what he has to do. Focused on the playoffs for the next four weeks and then will turn his attention to recruiting.

He was confirmed as in attendance today as a guest if the Buckeyes. Not sure what that means exactly in terms of if he still is considered a commit by Michigan, but definitely a positive for the Buckeyes.

a lot of people seem to think that hoke would let him go....but everyone forgets if he lets him go, the enemy will get him...

if conley was visiting just about any other team in america, he may be in jeopardy, but if you're hoke, you have to battle urban for this one...

you don't just pull his scholly and let urban win without a fight...

this is just another ohio state michigan battle...we'el see if hoke continues his losing trend

that is why i think hoke will still fight for conley

This is the reason I think Hoke might not fight for Conley. At this point he can make some ridiculous comment like, "He had given us a commitment, and if a person isn't capable of keeping his word he isn't worthy of being a Michigan Man (as opposed to being a convicted felon, who apparently is worthy)." Hoke may realize he's going to lose this battle, so he can then make the statement that they didn' really lose him, they cut him lose. A face saving measure. Although with that face, I have no idea why he would try to save it.

I came to this thread to basically write this exact thing. Hoke doesn't come off as someone who will pick fights he might lose. Seems like his common recruiting strategy w/ Ohio kids is to get to them first, and then convince them that they should seek revenge against OSU. Coupling that with him using "Ohio" and not shaking hands after losing but claiming no disrespect was meant, and he doesn't come off as the type who handles competition very well.

TSUN didn't want Conley to visit other schools. But he decided to anyways. And he chose to visit this week, and was on tOSU sidelines. Draw your conclusions accordingly.

It does seem like Conley is trying to walk a tightrope though so he doesn't burn any bridges with Michigan. Doesn't sound like he spent much time in Columbus and I think he may have only stayed for part of the game.

Just the opposite. He became the HC of scUM knowing he was a mediocre coach and was going to lose to us most of the time. He picked a fight with tOSU with his "OHIO" babble. He purposefully became a scUM fan when growing up in Ohio because he wanted to be different; knowing it would not be received well. He is exactly someone who looks for a fight.

Scout$ - Conley Still Committed to Michigan

11/26

Still 100% committed to Michigan and didn't speak to the OSU staff on his visit. No other visits planned right now.

Thanks to MD for summary.
