Cleveland Browns (2012 season)

The Front 3 would be fine for any defense. Our LB corps is the question.
I think a 34 with a cover 6 scheme like Pittsburgh has used would mask
Some issues we have at safety. The qtr qtr half on the backend would
Really benefit our inability to play deep halves.

Jauron I think would be more aggressive with the right personnel. As of
The moment we just play as a sound, physical unit. Match that equally with
Talent and I think it'd be the best defense in the AFC north.

The 3-4 scares the hell out of me, only because we would need LBs and I have flashbacks of picking up more David Veikune hybrid useless slapnutz who will never play a down on a competitive team like we picked up the last time they tried to force the 3-4. I would rather stick with the 4-3 and pick up an OLB and DBs, rather than figure out who will fit where in a 3-4.

Dion Jordan seems like he would fit nicely as an OLB in a 3-4 and should be available at pick #6

AT this point, Chip Kelly is the coach I want. Nobody else really thrills me this year. Some guys I'd be "meh" about, some I'd totally give up if hired. Kelly, if nothing else, will make this team interesting. I think he has the highest ceiling (and maybe lowest floor outside of McDaniels) of any of the supposed candidates. It will at least bring a little excitement to the Lake.

If they get a legit DC who will have a free hand for scheme, I'll be on board.

You can win with a good running game and a good defense.

I'm really not that upset.

Kind of excited actually- seems like the best big swing they can take. I'd rather strike out doing this than hit a squibber and trip over the bat on the way out of the batter's box.

I mean, fuck it, what's the worst that can happen...that hasn't already? This may just work.

This is my take. I mean, at least they're thinking outside the box and not going after some fucking retread. I was pretty vehemently against Kelly up until I read that excellent article a few pages back. The guy is a lot more than some gimmicky offensive coach. Like you said, this may just work...

Of course, regardless of twitter claiming it's going down, it may still blow up and we end up with friggin' Whisenhunt. :bonk:
