Unlike the majority of you guys, I am satisfied with the Chud hiring because I really didn't see anything else out there that I liked besides maybe Trestman or Zimmer and neither one of them has been a head coach in the NFL similar to Chud. So I guess I will take a wait and see attitude on him.

It will be interesting to see who they bring in as GM. Personally, I would like to see them bring in Gamble from the 49ers but there are other guys out there that also intrigue me like George Paton (Minnesota) and Idzik (Seattle).

Also, from everything that I have read, it looks like Turner is going to be the OC and unlike some of you I would rather see a more aggressive DC other than Jauron.

It will be interesting to see where he lands. I certainly do not think he is landing back in Cleveland. I don't know if he was the scapegoat or not down in Dallas but they did have pretty good defensive personnel down there but injuries were a factor.

Yeah i was just messing with ya... :topic: Dallas is never going to succeed until Jones is gone... the money must be outstanding there because there's no reason as a coach to go there.

Chud supposedly to let go of Jauron as soon
As tomorrow.

This is going to be a fucking disaster. Not like
It's anything different then usual.
Let the guy try his system with his coaches/players and then if it doesn't work out then you can bash him. I was not a big Jauron fan because I like aggressive defenses and I do not think he ran one. I don't know why you are judging Chud before he even has his entire system in place.

I'm a firm believer in the phrase "don't fix it if it ain't broke".

Fact is - the defense has provided the only consistency on this
Team. They'll kept us in games and have shown that ability
Despite having few playmakers, a lack of depth and littered with
Late round picks and free agents.

I feel we took a step forward in that department and now by switching
Defenses we increase our draft needs by position. I don't consider that a smart move.

Edit: I love defenses that set the tone by attacking. I don't blame Jauron for not being
So risky on blitzes though - we don't have great cover personnel outside of Haden. Our
Linebackers are decent in zone with their read and react.

This defense has been disciplined, sound and "heady" for what they lack in athletic ability and
Speed. Give Jauron some playmakers and I think his aggressiveness would be evident.

I too like the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" line if thinking and I too thought the defense was looking decent. But the numbers don't support that "belief":

Browns defenseGame Averages (2012)

PTS per game 23.0 (ranked 19th)

YDS per game 363.8 (ranked 23rd)

PASS YDS per game 245.2 (ranked 25th)

RUSH YDS per game 118.6 (ranked 19th)

While I was hoping for a Smith/Turner combo, I will give Chud a chance. I am neither excited nor angry about the hire. I am still most concerned about Jimmy and Joe. Jimmy is showing early signs of following the Jones/Davis owner model and Banner has been on a major power grab and I think he is starting to believe that he is a talent evaluator too.

I have had an uncomfortable feeling about Jimmy and Joe for a couple of months....hope I am wrong.
