Cleveland Browns (2013 Season)

they are starting to bolster the offensive already:shake:
The Browns signed offensive lineman Dominic Alford on Wednesday, the team announced.

Alford, a Shaker Heights product, spent the entire 2011 season on the Browns’ practice squad before landing on the Carolina Panthers' practice squad for four weeks last season. Coach Rob Chudzinski is familiar with Alford after serving as the Panthers' offensive coordinator the past two seasons.

The 6-foot-3, 320-pound Alford played at the University of Minnesota, but is yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game. The Browns signed him as an undrafted free agent on July 30, 2011.

BOOM goes the popcorn fart...

I hope this isn't a more global indication that Chud will go all Mangini and bring in all of his former team's scrubs...
Well, he also just hired the former running back coach from Carolina and if Haslam keeps on saying that they're going to build through the draft when he has $40 million to spend I am going to go crazier.

This "Diesel33" kid has some good highlight videos. Not sure if anyone had stumbled across them like I did. (Of course I"m going way off topic but, who cares?)

I wasn't bashing anyone, I just remember how the last coach who brought in all his own guys from his old team turned out...

Yeah, but, own guys for training camp fodder is one thing... own guys on the roster is another.

I do not think you can go from practice squad to practice squad especially since he was on the Browns practice squad the year before.

that is the rule during the regular season for certain. however, in the offseason I don't think that's the case. He can be signed like training camp fodder like everyone else.

it's a future's reserve contract, which basically means he's going to end up on cleveland's practice squad.

Noooo! I don't want the squealers taking big Hank because I love the guy and would hate to root against him. Also, I don't want the bungles taking Lacy because he seems like a nice kid and doesn't belong down in that rat hole. I am also not sure if I want the Browns taking Mingo or not. Think there might be better options but I want to see what they do in free agency first.
ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay’s latest mock draft has Hankins going to the Pittsburgh Steelers with the No. 17 overall pick. McShay writes that “the Steelers already have Steve McLendon to take over for Casey Hampton, but Hankins would be an upgrade. He shuts down the run in the middle. But it might be a stretch taking him this high in the draft.”

McShay has the Cleveland Browns taking defensive end Barkevious Mingo of Louisiana State at No. 6 overall and the Cincinnati Bengals taking Alabama running back Eddie Lacy at No. 21.

Fuck that. No way Mingo is a biscuit over 230 unless he's been
Hitting the buffet hard since the bowl game. Fact is he needed to
Put on 20-25lbs that might kill his greatest attribute - his acceleration.

He's potential, with limited production, especially this season.

I'd be happier throwing money at Kruger and then drafting Milliner.
It just seems like a much safer route that has less of a chance to bite
This franchise in the ass.

THIS X 1000 ... stay the hell away from him... which means Banner & Lomdumbass already love him and will trade up to take him.
