" we're not shopping any of our players"

... And a poor paraphrasing about not taking a QB in the 1st and
Giving Weeden the tools and time to succeed. Smartest thing out
Of his mouth in a long time.

Scott Pioli on NFL Network has us taking Jarvis Jones at #6....No..No...No! That injury history scares me off with him....He also has Milliner #2 and Warmack #4...Would want either one of those two over Jones....Thoughts?

I think mock drafts before the combine are retarded, that's my thought.

Injury history doesn't matter. Browns players always get taken out by something stupid and totally unrelated anyway, like getting tasered trying to ride a moped thru airport security.

My favorite is "stabbed by fiance while serving suspension for drunk driving and marijuana."

Pioli made the same comment mock drafts are stupid before the combine and free agency....I thought the exact same thing ysubuck said in his post...if we draft Jones he will get hurt but if we don't he will be great...kind of like "Richardson never fumbles"..until we drafted him...lol...
Nobody really intrigues me at the #6 pick really...If I had to pick today...give me Warmack...He is being touted by several people as the best player in the draft...
Side note...I cringed last night when they were talking to LT and showed his career stats...I wanted us to take him so bad that year and of course we took Big Money...but our o line did suck then...Ross Verba or Ryan Tucker our best lineman lmfao...

Can't decide who was more snakebit: Lawyer Tillman or William Green. Leaning towards Tillman since Green likely was an active participant in his own shanking.

Didn't Tillman only play, like, 4 games? At least Green had one semi-successful season...

Jones has gotten the thumbs up from one doctor.
I still say no. If Haslam & Banner know anything
About the recent history of this team they'll stay
Far, far away.

Only two obstacles in taking Milliner - Oakland & Detroit.

This probably means that Brandon and Colt are both gone before training camp:lol:
"I will not lie to anybody here," Banner said to a small group of Cleveland media at the NFL Scouting Combine. "I will not mislead you. I may not answer you, I may be incomplete in my answer. So I'm not telling you we would or wouldn't pick a quarterback in the first round or the second round [if the team acquires a second-round pick]. But I'm also kind of implying that that's not what I expect to have happen."

I read an article a few weeks ago that said Weeden was only in the shotgun less than 50% of the time last season while most other QB's were in the shotgun close to 65% of the time. That is a huge difference especially for a guy who spent the majority of his college career throwing from the shotgun.

I say that they should keep him at least for another season and see what he does under Turner. I would not mind them bringing in a vet to be his mentor but at times last year he didn't seem to want to listen to anybody when he came to the sidelines but I still think one more year under Turner would be a good indicator.

Read in today's Plain Dealer (Terry Pluto) that Weeden was in the shotgun 42% of passing plays last season, whereas Chud and Turner used shotgun on at least 75% of passing plays.

We all saw with our eyes, and the stats support what we saw, that Weeden was much more effective last season throwing out of the shotgun.

There are many reasons to expect Weeden to have a better year this year....2nd year in the league, more familiarity with receivers, new offense with vertical emphasis....but one of the biggest reasons may be the simple fact that Weeden will be in the shotgun closer to 75% of the time on passing plays.

From the same article that is linked above about Banner not saying that he will "lie" to the local media he states that Josh Gordon must step it up this season. I have no idea what he is talking about because I thought that Josh played pretty well for a rookie WR. I know that he was considered a second round pick but I thought he was our best receiver last season.
